It's not Gerald Wallace's fault that all of our shooters played like shit.

You're being too subtle for my liberal brain. Can you just tell me if you think his performance was good or bad, please?

Wallace didn't pass the ball, and the shooters got rusty. It was the 'Dre/Wallace show, and it failed. The offense was stagnant and predicatable. People blame Roy for LMA's regression, but it is Miller and Wallace, IMO.

    Feed the beast...

It was extraordinary, and his team lost the game.

The team was shooting pretty poorly before Wallace started heating up. That they shot similarly after he cooled back down at the end of the game is hardly his fault. In fact, I'd call Wallace's performance fool's gold only because it prevented a (real, actual) blowout. But that is not his fault, and it is no denigration of his impeccable play tonight.

In retrospect, hindsight being 20/20 and all, I wish he'd have cooled off earlier, or not played so well at all, because it meant everybody played major minutes chasing a game that was never in reach to begin with.

I guess I don't see this as a negative thread, only one to illustrate some of the problems attached to ISO ball. Wallace looked great tonight, but his team lost. It's as simple as that to me, as I assess a game.

Without Wallace we would have lost by a lot more.

Wallace played great. If the entire team had shot as well as he did we win going away.

Well, kind of, I guess. 40 points, 27 shots, and zero assists in a 9-point loss stands out to me. And, as this thread shows, it also stands out in terms of history.

    what. a. bum.

Seriously. No assists? Terrible. What a terrible point guard Gerald Wallace is. He reminds me of Damon Stoudamire.

9 point loss. ISO offense. 90 points total. This game did remind me of Damon...

    Hello darkness, my old friend
    PapaG is melting down! :MARIS61:

It didn't take long for you to get back to your anti-Miller crusade. And now you've widened the scope to Wallace!

Outlaw didn't pass a lick, was an inefficient scorer, very prone to going one-on-everyone and you liked that guy. I guess because Roy liked him. He had the Roy stamp of approval! :)

Melting down? You're typically not one for hyperbole, Minstrel. One of the more sure signs that this board is dying, and all due to a few whiny posters.

Wallace passes the ball plenty, but it takes two dudes to make 1 assist.

The other players to score 40 points and have 0 assists like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant are bums. Yep, I wouldn't want them on my team ...

I fail to see your point. Wallace was making the most of his opportunities because the go-to scorer Aldridge couldn't make it happen because he couldn't establish position in the post.
