Did he have any field goals in the 4th quarter? I don't understand the criticism of Wallace. Basketball is a weird game. Durant had one of his worst games of the year and his team happened to win. A road win that could of gone either way, I can live with it. I'm certainly not about to talk smack about a player that scored over 1/3rd of the teams points just because teammates couldn't hit a bucket. You feed the hot hand. I understand what you're trying to do though.
I think I figured out what's going on here. Wallace obviously made too many shots tonight, that's why we lost by 9. It's a good thing we don't have a top 5 NBA scoring leader on our team, else we would lose every single game by at least 9. BOOYAH!!
Well, boys and girls, that means he's not adjusting well to a double team. Wallace should be blamed for this loss though ...
Its kinda late and you're being annoying again....Wait, wait, let me guess your wife is off in some great place and your stuck with the kids.
I was making a joke, thus the smiley. You often accuse others (even me!) of "melting down." It's one of your more amusing mannerisms (to me). Another favourite is "clown town."
I don't know, the wins on that list outnumber the losses 5-3. The thing that stuck out to me was the fact that he shot 57% for the game, which is a winning number. Miller had 52 points and 2 assists last year and the Blazers won that game. The mention of rebounds doesn't make any sense here, unless you thought they were too few. The mention of FGAs only makes sense to me when he's shooting poorly, which he didn't. 66 players since 1985-86 have scored 40 points and had 0 assists, and 45 of them won their games which is barely more than 2/3rds. Ball-hogging isn't always the strategy I would go with, but Wallace really doesn't make a habit of that since he's averaging 11.8 attempts per game on the year, so I'd call this a fluke. You go with the hot-hands sometimes. That's not unreasonable.

I'm not sure the point of this thread. Wallace had a monster game, no one else could hit he did pass the ball a bunch but no one made a shot when he did. Wallace was a monster on D vs Durant. So i'm not getting the criticism, we lost because others couldn't step up. LMA had what 4 points in the second and had a hard time hitting easy shots. No one could hit a three and Westbrook would not be denied shooting WAY over his season avg of 32% from three. Wallace may have taken the last 2 shots that the blazers really had but 1 of them was a good looking jumper the other he was fouled on and a no call.
Crash gets no love for holding Durant to 5/18 shooting for the game? Go figure. Wallace worked his ass off on both ends of the floor. He played a GREAT game. As others have said, sometimes you just ride the hot hand. Go Blazers Edit: Rhal beat me to the point about D on KD.
I think PapaG was being critical of ISO play, but I'm not certain. There seemed to be an inference that Wallace was partly to blame for the loss, but there wasn't any direct correlation.
Wallace is a Beast! All the things he did in that game last night were positives. If he plays like that again, 9 times out of 10 we win. He just needs a little help from his friends. I wanted wallace last year, and im so pumped hes on our team. The dude Dives on the floor for loose balls, gets steals, blocks shots, rebounds, and draws 7 yup 7 offensive fuckin fouls?!? Thats insane body on the line to help this team win shit! You can talk about the anomaly of not recording any assists all you want but the 7 offensive fouls he drew laying his body on the line risking serious injuries and taking away possesions from the thunder means ALOT more to me and the TEAM then not recording an assist which requires his poor shooting teammates to make a shot. Insane Game Gerald!
Wallace shot 57.1% from the field. His teammates hot 35.8%. Only an idiot would want Wallace to shoot less. Batum was a non-factor on offense (1-4) and Matthews was horrible (2-9). Implying that this loss was somehow Wallace's fault is idiotic trolling. Wallace was THE best player on the court, at both ends last night. Anybody who can't see that either didn't watch the game, is a motherfucking moron, or a blatant troll (or quite possibly all three). The Blazers last two losses were to the two hottest teams in the league (combined 23-3 in March), both on the road, and they were in both games in the final minutes. Basketball is a team sport, and very often the better team wins, especially when playing at home. To blame one player, who played great at both ends of the court, for a loss shows a fundamental failure to understand the very basic nature of basketball as a team sport. BNM
Boob, just once I wish you'd tell us what you really think, without sugar coating it! Skoal, Brother!
Anybody besides me during yesterday's game find themselves imagining a front line of Wallace, Aldridge and Oden? Holy crap!
