Wizards, with 1-35 road record, up 6 with two minutes left in OT. In UTAH where it used to be hard to get a win.

    How the mighty have fallen.

Utah 10-21 from the FT line. They lost the game right there.

Hard to believe they were 27-13 and in first place back on January 14. That's what happens when your coach gets run out of town and then you trade the player responsible. Usually, in such situations, you choose one or the other. The Jazz chose neither - and it's directly reflected in their record. They are now 9-26 since January 14 and 5-15 since Sloan walked.

Utah went from 27-13, to now 36-39.

    That's record of 9 and 26. That's on pace for 21 wins.

Sloan was their identity... now Utah has nothing, and has to rebuild all over from the very top. Yikes... how do you lose to the Wiz at home.. oh well

What a lot of people don't realize is players were willing to sign and play in SLC BEACAUSE of Sloan. They were willing to play there to play under a hall of fame coach. NOBODY is going to go there now! Nobody!

That's an interesting theory. It's not like we've landed a FA of Boozer's caliber. They did. But he was an RFA. I don't know. I'm torn. I'm not sure Sloan was a FA magnet, but he certainly was a fucking great coach. Corbin is neither. So we win.

The new CBA will be huge for the Jazz. They really need a hard cap IMO to survive in SLC. Or something close that will keep spending under control and players from jumping ship the first chance they have.

Portland is not a free agency destination, but SLC has to be at the bottom. Even with all the fan support.

The Jazz BTW have given up. They are in Lotto position mode. They kept Millsap and Jefferson ont he bench in the 4th qt and OT to give the young players experience. (And to lose IMO)

They want the Jimmer. (They can have the Jimmer)

I don't like the Jazz, but I feel a kinship with Utah fans: the only big-4 professional sport in town in a non-glamour location that's tough to draw free agents. They're going to go through a tough rebuilding process; it's never fun to lose.

So far they have suffered for 2 months. I will wait a couple more years before feeling sorry for them.

Yeah, I grew up a fan of the Jazz watching StocktonToMalone (hey--it was the only NBA I got on broadcast TV in Boise), so I've never really hated them as much as most Blazer fans.

The Jazz are going to be in the same boat as the Kings and Sonics were--smaller markets that are out of the way, on a downward spiral after former glory, and ripe for eventual relocation. As much as I dislike the Utah Jazz, just wait until they wallow in the lotto for three or so years, the fans stop coming, and it's suddenly the Mother Fucking San Diego Jazz, and the Lakers get what amounts to yet two more home games per year.

That makes no sense, and by all reports, that's not what happened. Sloan just up and quit, ownership begged him to stay, and the team fell apart after the Williams trade.

Sloan's legacy is that of a quitter. I'm sure he doesn't mind. Hell, he's probably tilling his fields with a John Deere tractor and doesn't miss any of it.

I'm very good friends with the Director of the Jazz TV broadcasts and he also travels with the team. I hear that Williams and Sloan had a pretty rocky relationship. Got into it a few times.
