how many years has Nate been in the league now as both a player and a coach? 20+ right? He probably knows a bit more then some armchair internet posters who are labeling him an idiot of what NBA players are capable of. I don't know how many times I've heard of the regular season referred to as a grind... time to man up

It was a rhetorical question. mgb brought up a valid point, but if LMA's body can't respond, it's also a moot point.

Who is labeling him an idiot? Also, aren't we all armchair posters? Or are the armchair posters only on the side that the "experts" like you disagree with?

As an aside, does anbody have data for coaches who play their players too many minutes, so we can use that data to not prove whose opinions are wrong or right?

I don't have the data, and I won't be specific on what variables will satisfy me, but just for grins, I'm asking for the data!

Why do you want data when you have no idea how to use it?

For anyone supporting Nate's comments I really hope you weren't one of the people complaining about LA's sub par performances as well.

Does anyone have some data on who's correct? Please post it.

You know..... running the offense through Crash, Batum and Mathews for the first half and halving Camby playing clean up, and bringing LA in for big minutes in the second could cause teams huge fits on matchups. Further it could rest LA at the same time.

Well I think it should be obvious at this point that I'm always right and so is Crandc (except when she disagrees with me). Why do we need data to prove what we already know as fact?

I'll need some correlating evidence, an unspecified argument, and some undefined variables from you, first.

    Chop chop!

What exactly does it mean his body is gassed? From this point on he can't play any effective mins? He can play 10 effective mins? 20? No matter the amount of rest between games his body is gassed? I can understand him getting tired during a game, but not for the rest of the season. I also think at some point it becomes mental.

I just want to use it as an estimate, not to prove anything!

I suppose, but if he really is beat down from playing so much, no amount of mental fortitude is going to offset true physical limitations, at least over a sustained period.

If it is mental, and his body is 100%, then I expect him to start trying harder (I don't subscribe to this theory, though, I think all players try as hard as their bodies let them in a play-off chase). I don't think he's a quitter. I think his body isn't at its best, and it may be affecting his mental state and frustrating him. JMO, though.

That is all that can be done with stats... make educated guesses. You can't prove anything. I'm glad to see you're making progress.

Beat down? Again I'm not sure what that means. Is he injured? I guess you are saying just a cumulative effect that causes his body not to play hard for many mins? That causes him to run out of gas after a certain amount of mins no matter the rest before the game? Beat down to me does sound really mental.

I can't prove that LMA is averaging 21.9 ppg and 8.6 rpg? Or that he is shooting 49.8% from the field?

Why, I think you're on the edge of a basketball revolution!

Well, we're arguing semantics. I think perhaps his body isn't able to give the same consistent performances that it could give 3 months ago, no matter how much LMA wants it to.

Saying otherwise is getting dangerously close to saying he is tanking, IMO. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, and I hope he does get a bit of rest before the playoffs. The guy had a beast of a year, and without him during the injury stretch to others, I don't think the Blazers are a playoff team.

That's sexist. And I have statistical evidence of you being sexist in the past.
