No evidence, no phone calls, no nothing, but that won't stop ESPN/Longhorn/Big 12 Network from running with it! 5-7 teams don't make for a very good football network, and now it looks like other members of that conference are joining the smear campaign. The good ole days of Texas and aTm simply paying HS coaches for players are over, and now they are squealing like little pigs. I'm not sure I've hated a person in college football more than I now hate Mack Brown, who is a bigger cheater in terms of paying for players via HS coaches than anybody at LSU, Oregon, USC, etc. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=6275253
I do find it funny how butt hurt Texas seems to be getting watching kids like Luck, Thomas, Lamichael, even Seastrunk, and Anthony Wallace, and the Rodgers Brothers going out of state.
I'll fight smears with smears of my own. ESPN should be ashamed of themselves. They offer a headline as being fact, when really, the only "proof" are the words of a guy who has to live in Tulsa, OK, now, and who is a former UT player. Wish me luck! I have a call with a client soon, but I'll be back! LOL
OK, so Wheels, did I throw out enough wild accusations in the ESPN comment section? I thought I did a pretty good job of landing some blows on the Texas schools. My ESPNT rants made me chuckle to myself.
I havent been able to follow super closely as I got slammed at work, but just hovering over them, you got them going thats for sure. "They sure grow you guys dumb down there in Texas." Harsh lol
That was a bit over the line, but well-deserved, IMO. Anyhow, I hope that the Oregon/Lyles payment is on the up-and-up, but isn't it funny how the two teams in the Cowboy Classic are being smeared by sources in Texas? I don't think anybody should trust ESPNT on any of this. If the U ofTexas isn't an NCAA powerhouse that contends for titles each year, then ESPNT just blew $300 million on a team with a losing record.
