I don't wish Travis ill, and hope he rebounds quickly, but in light of some other auld lang syne threads recently I thought this was timely.

He's averaging 9ppg/4rpg in 29 mpg. His PER for 2300 minutes is a Blanky-worthy 8.8. The unblockable shot's only going down 37% of the time, and 29% from 3.

It might be worth checking to see how desperate NJN are to get rid of him. He's not going to do better anywhere else in the league than he will here, for McMillan.
    Bolded for KingSpeed emphasis ;)

Is it time to start a 'stick it to him' thread about Yi being an all star?

I think NJ is a terrible place for Travis. He's a country boy, and Northern New Jersey is no place for someone like that. Brooklyn will be even worse. He needs a strong hand and someone that will design a system where he doesn't have to think. Nate maximized his abilities and got him that contract. The bigger issue is that his contract makes him untradable, so he's stuck.

Too bad. He's a good guy.

Outlaw has defiantly stunk this season. The guy has a lot of talent but not the BBIQ to become anything other then a decent 6 man or an okay starter. Now it looks like he has regressed passed both of those and sits in the "oh god how the hell can we get our money back"

Travis has not done well this season, but why no mention of Martell who you always championed while knocking TO? Didn't you predict that he'd star on the lowly Wolves?

If there is an amnesty deal in the new CBA, he might become available.

He's just what we need--another 6'8 SF masquerading as a backup power forward.

Great Travis memory................ we had just arrived at our hotel in Manhattan, and all the guys were getting ready to hit the town. Travis walks up and asked what we were getting into....... I told him we had a roped off V.I.P. section waiting for us over at SCORES. I asked him if he wanted to go with us and he said, "Ah, geez. I don't even know what that is." Couldn't be more out of his element if he tried. OKC and Charlotte are his best fits if you ask me.

I always thought he'd enjoy playing in Memphis, coming off the bench. I bet Monty could make him effective in NO as well.

Kinda interesting to see Roy, Blake, and Outlaw all having possibly their worst seasons in their respective careers in 2010-2011.

Never ever was a Outlaw fan. I will admit that I was a Webster fan. So I'm just as bad as anyone on either account.

I was wracking my brains trying to come up with ways to unload Roy's contract (he can't be any more untradeable than Gilbert Arenas - can he?) and I kept coming back to NJ, and Travis. Travis + Johan Petro + Jordan Farmar comes to a Roy salary, and they're all signed to multi-year contracts and NJ might have buyer's remorse about each of them.

I'd do that just so that we'd be free of the painful reminder of the Roy that was, and Nate would be free of the sick feeling that he has to give Roy minutes. If any of them could contribute it would just be gravy.

(Of course, at the moment Roy's salary is still Base Year, which fucks things up.)

I don't think I said he'd star on the Wolves, b/c Rambis wanted to run the bastardized Triangle. I did say he could be a poor man's combo of Reggie Miller and Bruce Bowen. :dunno:

Even with his back injury, he'd be leading our team in 3pt shooting at 42%. But I digress. If I'd seen an article saying something like "Webster is nothing close to Reggie Miller or Bruce Bowen" I'd post it also. It was the timing and the wording, not the piling on of Travis, that I thought was funny and postworthy.

Roy is due to injury, but it's clear now that Nate is a far better coach than either PJ or Johnson.

here you are projecting he'd take over Kobe's role in the triangle initiating their offense

    http://sportstwo.com/threads/170947-Semi-OT-Reports-on-Outlaw-Webster?

he'd also rank 11th in PER... right after Chris Johnson and Patty Cakes

okay, it just struck me as odd that a long time Webster lover is still trying to "stick it to the Outlaw lovers" given MW's season
