Which puts us in sole possession of the 6th seed.. Now lets just hope that LA holds on to the 2 and beats OKC tonight... (can't believe I just said that)
If Portland loses to Memphis and we all end up with identical records, does anyone know what the seeding will be for 6, 7 and 8?
I believe it will be: 6. NO 7. MEM 8. POR We can just avoid all this by winning both our games to stay @ 6.
If Portland's two likeliest seeds are 6 and 8, that's a good position IMO. Either Dallas or San Antonio would be a good match-up, with Dallas as my preference. I'd just like Portland to avoid LA in round 1. Now if LA manages to drop into the 3 seed, that would be somewhat annoying. Though I do think a Portland/LA match-up would be a decent series.
If I were the Lakers, I don't know if I'd want to play Memphis right now. Lionel Hollins has that team playing some good basketball. I think the Lakers would much rather play New Orleans. That game on Tuesday here at the RG is going to be fucking epic.
Hell maybe we're better off losing the Memphis game and getting the 8 seed. Although its ridiculous to tank for the Spurs now that I reread that.
The Spurs, after getting Duncan and Parker back, have won their last 4, I think they've got their shit together again. Order of Priority the Blazers would want: 1. Dallas 2. Lakers 3. Oklahoma City 4. San Antonio.
Lakers clearly tanking for 3rd (for what???? nobody knows). They're getting killed by OKC right now. With a loss tonight, DAL and LAL will be tied in the loss column (LA leading because they're 2-1 against DAL).
I wish I could believe that, tlong. But I've seen too many Phil Jackson teams do this and then "flip the switch" when the playoffs start to buy it.
