Hate to break it to you, but Dallas isn't playing zone.

We could find plenty of clips where LMA is hitting an outside shot.

I've been consistent about this for years. I said the Imaginary Cap Space plan was bullshit.

Soft as snowflakes at PF. Which is really bad when you don't have a decent center either.

Dirk was unhampered and singlehandedly beat us.

We lost the first round 3-4 against Dallas in their prime with Zach on our team. Watch those games, then get back to me on the definition of "strong at PF".

Z-Bo is such a great player that your argument to keep him is the Blazers would have his contract coming off the books. LOL.

Btw, newsflash, the Blazers already got his contract off the books. Trying to use that argument now you're essentially agreeing with the people that were happy he was traded in the first place. It allowed his contract to get off the books(counting Francis and shit) a couple years ago.

You're all over the place, no solid argument, nothing

    Boring and predictable

Keep on believing that and maybe it would come true. Sure, the Blazers got his contract off the books and did fuck all with it + RLEC, which was called by some as one of the most valuable trade assets in NBA history.

Couldn't think of a better city for Z-BO. You can take the g out the hood but you can't take the hood out the g, for lack of a better word.

    That's nice

Your logic is still terribly flawed though, and none of your arguments for keeping him and have been real convincing tbh.

Weak backup PF position? Not only would Zach most likely hate that, he'd be making $15M. No ty.

EC for 2011? They already used his expiring contract.

Glad you know what Zach Randolph's thinking. Zach making $15m wouldn't have appreciably affected any of our major moves.

Maybe we couldn't have Andre Miller and Rudy Fernandez. Big whoop.

No matter how good he coulda fit on the team, it simply didn't fit in this white ass of a city

There are none. Please show me a clip of Zach hitting a shot in the 2nd round. He's been in the league 10 years, so I'm sure it will be easy to find.

And regardless of how many youtube clips we pull up, it still won't change the fact you said he was "busting a zone" against a man defense. Maybe accuracy isn't your thing.

It was a bad trade at the time and remains a bad trade in hindsight. But... it's been a while. I've let go on us passing on Michael Jordan and Chris Paul (pretty much) and I am almost over the less offensive Zach giveaway.

While I'm happy for Zach and Memphis, I think that Chris Wallace is the one who's been vindicated. Michael Heisley, too, to some extent.

Chris Wallace was almost the GM of the Blazers, and the franchise would almost certainly be in better shape now if he had been hired instead of John Nash.

    Oh, well.

Calling Zach Randolph a zone buster is ridiculous. The guy made EIGHT 3-pointers this season and shot 0.186 from 3-point range. In ten NBA seasons, he's made a total of 108 3-pointers and is a career 0.276 3-point shooter.

Zach is a lot of things, but zone buster, he's not. He's great at scoring in the paint and rebounding, but he's not a 3-point shooter.

Ironically, the guy we got for him in trade (and I don't mean Rudy) turned out to be a pretty good 3-point shooter - after the Blazers let him walk for nothing. In the two seasons since leaving Portland, Channing Frye has made 343 3-pointers and shot 0.413 from 3-point range. That makes him a better 3-point shooter than anyone on our current roster.

I'm not defending the Zach trade, or claiming Channing is a better player than Zach (not close), just pointing out that if it's a zone buster we need, we got one in the Zach trade - and then let him walk for nothing. A 6'11" guy who can hit the three would have helped open things up down low against Dallas.

I'm wondering why Portland is a "white ass of a city" that hated people of color, but Zach was bounced from NY and LA before coming to MEM, where he his cars were seized after his longtime friend was caught distributing drugs out of one of them.

Good for Zach for being a good player. Being a good player wasn't what got him traded out of Portland, NY or LA.

I wonder if the Knick and Clipper message boards are having a major breakdown over Zach making it to the 2nd round.

xERICx blew a gasket on the night when Zach was traded and never got over it. He's had it in for Pritchard since then. I guess I missed all of the I TOLD YOU SO!!! threads after the last 4 seasons when Zach was putting up big numbers on losing teams.
