Wow, Batum and Oden for CP3? You do know CP3 has the same condition as Roy right?!?! I love CP3, but his future in the NBA is just as much uncertain as Roy's. Okay maybe not "AS" since CP3 still has one menisci.

Batum is a young, talented, character guy who continues to improve each year. Trading him would be a mistake.

Batum and Oden for CP3 would be a steal for us.

Leadership, heart and talent = MUCH BETTER AND STEAL. Would you be alright with it if we had the same issues with CP3 as we do with Roy? Could you imagine Cho burnt at the steak for that?!

That would be like someone offering the Blazers OJ Mayo and Gasol for Roy 3 years ago. You think we would have pulled the trigger? Do you think fans in Portland would think it's a great deal then? I would rather an offer made for another PG. Maybe even getting Boob from Cleveland. I actually think we could get him for cheap. Maybe just for Batum straight up. And Boob is actually built as a deadly 3 point shooter and quick guard. Kinda fits our mold and actually a player I see easily obtainable.

I don't understand the comparison. Paul was playing all-nba level even with the injuries. Brandon gives us one good game out of four.

I am comparing Roy from 2 years ago. Not Roy now. If CP3 has the same condition as Roy, then why wouldn't he be hampered with the same injuries a few years down the road? Roy had the hampering injuries 2 years ago as well, and he made the allstar game. He was compared as one of the toughest covers for other SGs. And Roy doesn't play at the speed of CP3. If CP3's knees fail him, he could be seriously slowed down.

Trading for a top-2 pick is nearly impossible but for the sake of conversation:

The best PG in this draft class.

Paul is almost playing on the same condition Roy is, and Roy didn't lose all his meniscus until last season, not two years ago. Plus, I honestly don't think Paul relies on athleticism as much as Roy. Paul is a better shooter and has his passing skill to fall back on, whereas Roy's primary skill is his scoring and slashing.

Batum is only 22 but I'd package him for a PG. Last year KP (?) turned down the #4 overall pick for Batum and that draft was stronger than this upcoming one. He has value.

The other reason is Victor Claver. I really like his skillset and he measured (2.08m) 6'10" w/o shoes. Now, if only he can stay healthy...

Chad Ford is crazy when he said there would be no stars in this draft. Irving will be a star. He is damn good.

Exactly what I was saying.... If Roy actually had meniscus 2 years ago and none now; could CP3 fall down the same path?

IMO he's now a big risk, it's only one knee apparently but he's having issues and the more he plays the worse it will get, with Roy and Oden and all the probs we've had I can't see any way mgmt takes a chance on Paul, unless he's very cheap.

Oh I would have to disagree with this one. I actually think Roy is a better shooter than CP3 and CP3 relies on his quickness to do a lot of damage. I think a player like Roy, could actually play longer in the league with the same condition than CP3, because Roy plays at a much slower pace. Once CP3 loses his speed, he won't be as good as many think. Of course CP3 has an eye like a point and can pass better than the best of them; but without his speed, teams can zone him much easier and play the passing lanes. He needs to beat people off the dribble, so the defense collapses on him; then he gives it up to the wide open player.

How quick is Steve Nash? 50/40/90 with supreme court vision has a quality all its own.

Don't we already have a PG with great court vision and passing without speed? I truly don't think Miller needs to be replaced. In fact, he was the only player in the playoffs that had a consistent game throughout. Well with the exception of game 6. I think if we can get Oden, maybe a tough PF defensive type and a shooter PG; we should be in very good shape. But that's just my opinion.

IMO he goes ONLY if a PGOTF can be traded for, if not we keep him. That's my opinion
