Do you think LMA deserved to get votes as the League's Most Valuable Player?

I like LMA but I sure don't think he belonged anywhere near that list.

I'm glad Rose got it. Much deserved.

Everybody on that list deserved a vote before LA EXCEPT Blake and Manu. Can't argue with the rest.

Amare was good for +13 wins for the Knicks over the previous season. I think he deserved more serious consideration than he got.

The Spurs had the best record in the league until the last few games of the season. Tim Duncan and his 21.9 PER got zero votes.

It's a popularity contest anyway, just like the All-Star team.

Actually, about 95% of the time, it simply goes to the best player on the team with the best record. This is how Nash won his first and how Dirk won his.

The love Blake Griffen gets is annoying, but you can see why it happens. The league is built around stars, so the proclaimed "new stars" like Griffen get put on TV a ton and it makes him seem better then he actually is.

What's sad is that the NBA was ready to proclaim Oden as one of its new stars before he got hurt. Look at how many TV games we were suddenly granted when the schedule came out in 2007.

I think the media decided it about 2 months ago. I don't think anybody far and away deserved it. I would have taken Dwight, but I have no complaints about him, Rose, or LeBron. For the first part of the season, it should've been Dirk's. Especially because his team went 2-9 when he was injured and like 21-2 when he was healthy. Problem was when he came back their record wasn't good enough.

You realize how average Aldridge was all but 1 month of the season, right? Aldridge was an absolute beast during that month, but still....only a month

9 out of the 120 voters left LeBron James off of their ballot completely, yet somebody put Blake Griffin in their Top 3.

Yeah, that's legitimate. Let me guess, a few writers in Cleveland, and a handful more in the New York area were butthurt about James picking Miami?

LMA had a very above average January (24.9/10.4) and an even better February (27.8/9.3)... 26 games (about 1/3 of the season).

Given his career averages (including this season) are 17.3 / 7.5, LMA was above average every month except October. He was also above his 2008-9 averages (18.1/7.5) every month except October (though his rebounding dipped in March to 7.1).

LMA was in no way average with a spike in one month... except when you consider MVP balloting.

This is why I'm not broken up about him not getting a vote. He played great, and stepped up when we needed a hero. But he's not a league MVP (our MVP? Sure!).

How could you have ANY credibility as a journalist if you left 'Bron off your ballot?
