It's not like it hasn't always been that way, ever since civilization began. No sense letting it ruin my day. Just because there are heinous people in positions of power inflicting pain and suffering on the masses doesn't mean I can't have a magically satisfying existence here in Beautiful Central Oregon. Were I trapped in a Turkish prison, or suffering from Alzheimers or something I might have call to be sad, but I have a wonderful life, wonderful family and friends, a rewarding career, and the best place on Earth to live. As for bin Laden, I've never been "worried" about him. He was always a joke. So is his merry band of impotent cowards. The whole fearing terrorists thing bemuses me in it's idiocy. In the last decade bees and fire ants and hippos killed more innocent humans than all the terrorists in the world. Al Quaida is no more of a threat to me than the ticket taker at OMSI.
No, but there's a flaw with that argument. There hasn't been any evidence to dismiss. If they release photos, and people scream they are faked, I can see your point, but they haven't. In fact, the only photo that has been released WAS faked/staged. So now we're not releasing evidence because someone might claim it's a fake? Shit, our justice system just got a whole hell of a lot easier to convict people. "Your honor, we have photos and DNA evidence that Mr. barfo was at the scene of the crime, and in fact killed the victim. We are not, however, going to present these photos or evidence to the jury because someone might claim that they were faked. You know how good photoshop is these days... we also do not want to upset anyone because the photos are rather graphic in nature."
I can see the future, and I can see that they would be dismissed as fake. So what does it matter if it has happened yet or not? The result is the same either way. See, e.g, Obama's birth certificate, 9/11, moon landing, jfk, etc etc. I think enough evidence has "been released" about conspiracy theorists to draw some conclusions. barfo
It matters because this could very well get him re-elected. I don't think someone should get elected/re-elected based on a lie. I don't care who they are.
So suppose they release photos. Then you declare them to be fakes. What would have changed, exactly, from the current situation? Obama would still be born in Kenya. Osama would still be either alive and well or dead for many years, depending on which sounds better at the moment. And you won't be able to convince very many people of that, photos or no photos. barfo
Why would I declare them to be fakes? I have no idea whether they would be fake or not. I might suspect them to be fake, but I can not make that determination one way or the other. Regardless, the absence of ANY proof is far more damning than releasing something that some people think is a fake... unless it's actually proven to be a fake, which is a whole other issue. Either way, Dems are gonna believe what they want to believe, and Pubs are gonna believe what they want to believe.
And conspiracy theorists are gonna believe what they want to believe. So like I say, what's the point? barfo
The point is, it's the job of the government to present the data and leave the conclusions up to us. They should not withhold the evidence simply because someone might think it's fake. Nothing would ever get done if we were always worried that someone might not like what we do. I want the evidence to be presented so I can decide for myself whether it's real or fake. The job is done, it's not a matter of national security, and it's the duty of our government to present the American public with proof that this actually happened.
Yeah, those are faked. Another idiotic post from barfo. I only used ALL CAPS just so you would know that I don't think that you're a TONE-DEAF MORON for posting about FAKE PHOTOS of PEOPLE jumping off of TALL BUILDINGS in a thread related to BIN LADEN and 9/11.
Guess they ought to fire all the analysts working for the government, then. They should just publish all data on the internet and everyone can have a go at interpreting it. Trouble is, how do you make decisions then? Vote on everything? No one said they were withholding it because you'd think they were fake. I said it wouldn't matter if they released it because you'd think it was fake. I haven't seen that in my copy of the constitution, maybe I have an abridged version? Was it Amendment 30, Right of the People to See Pictures of Dead Terrorists? barfo
Often it does you no harm. I've jumped off several buildings in my life, and never so much as broken an ankle. It's all in the details. How high the building, how hard the landing surface, landing posture, skeletal and muscular strength... It helps to watch a lot of film, and learn from other's mistakes. Paging MicroSuck! I know I'm suppose to leave the OT section alone but some of you are ripping into each other pretty damn bad. Come on guys, agree to disagree and take a step back for a while.
