I already hated Bynum for being a cheap player but this is getting insane, he is going to cost someone a season ending injury with this cheap shot stuff. The league needs to step in and give him a 5 to 10 game suspension and tell him if he does again he will be suspended 20+ games.

If he does it again, which he will, he should be suspended for the rest of the season. He's already put one person in the hospital (Wallace). Trying to intentionally hurt players like that is almost as bad as going into the stands and hitting a fan.

If they're going to lose Howard anyhow, perhaps they would be interested in replacing him with Bynum?

Orlando would rather trade him to Miami for Bosh than do a trade with the Lakers.

It's only a good thing if Maurice Lucas is doing it in the old days.

I could swear that I read many posts during the Dallas series about how Luke would have dropped somebody on their ass just to send a message.

Bynum's problem is that he should have done it in Game 2 and not late in Game 4. Timing is everything, but the message isn't a bad one to send at times. Bynum's goof was not doing it early enough.

Why? They would want to trade an MVP-level player for the third wheel on a division rival?

Anyhow, how fitting and fun was it to watch that complete implosion by the Lakers. The only comparable event this summer will be the board's reaction when BLANKY is brought back as the back-up PG.

A huge difference between a hard shot and a cheap shot. Lucas never cheap shot a player. He'd stand his ground and not take shit but never a hard elbow to the ribs to a defenseless player on the way to the basket. What Bynum does is complete bullshit.

Did you not watch the playoffs and most of this season? That is what Gasol has turned into (minus the division rival bit)

What's wrong with Bynum? Why would the Lakers keep Bynum if they were trading for Howard?

They won't, but Orlando has to want a player. if I'm Orlando, I'd start with Gasol, and tell them to fuck off with Bynum.

Not unlike how some thought of Rudy when Ariza put the moves on him...

I hate those kinds of plays. They're dangerous and pointless and as professionals these guys show a lack of respect for each other when they do that. The Player's Union should be fining them too for that kind of wanton disregard for a player's career. We all know Rudy was never the same after that play. Crash came back and Barea seems fine, but what happens the next time Bynum throws his dumbass elbow up like that.

It was great how much Phil distanced himself from the team in the presser. He was on the ball calling them "The Lakers" rather than "we" or "us". I wouldn't want to be within a million miles of those losers either.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Personally, I think you're underrating Bynum quite a bit. Like Oden, he's had health issues...but he's played much more than Oden and been really good when he's played. He's still only 23 while Gasol is 30. If I were Orlando, I'd rather have Bynum than Gasol if I'm losing Howard.

Would Howard really want to go to the Lakers? I mean, I guess it's a big media market, but he's already playing with a couple of broken-down overpaid hasbeen shooting guards as it is, and we saw where that got him.

Why? Didn't you just post that Gasol destroyed his value this postseason. You'd trade a franchise player for Pau Gasol? I'd like to see what Bynum could do in an offense that features him as more than just an afterthought. I think he could be an elite player, if he stays healthy.

Because even though he ruined his value, he's far more consistent (healthy wise) than Bynum.

Wasn't your original point that LAL had nothing other than Gasol to offer, thus making Chris Mullin an idiot? Bynum (and even Oden) are still considered young players who could someday help a team win a title. I think you not mentioning Bynum as a potential trade piece for the Lakers in a Howard trade was a glaring oversight.

No, it's my way of saying that Orlando could get something better than an oft injured player and a big pussy for Dwight Howard.

Bynum's PER the past 4 years, starting in 2007-08.

    22.6
    20
    20.2
    21.1

He's played in over 65% of regular season games the past three years.

I think he's a potential Hall of Fame player, in the right offense.
