This L is on Thibodeau. You can't play Rose the entire second half. You just can't. We've seen this script so many times.
I have only seen the first half so far But... we weren't composed opening the game . We missed shots then panicked and through up a lot of shit even though we had control of the boards early We took the initiative through the back half of the first quarter and half the 2nd quarter but we let them back in I don't know what the fuck happended yet in the 4th quarter. I just know that when Taj missed the and 1 with 2.29 left to play it would have made it 78-76. Jo fouled Wade and then Deng turned it over and we jacked some 2's and it was a 7 - 0 swing in the last 2.29 Ouch We started with a lack of composure. It looks like we finished with a lack of composure.
Agreed about Thibs. Weird that he needed offense and Korver wasn't giving it to us and he stayed away from playing Boozer. Deng played a lot of minutes, too. But so did their big 3 - Wade 40, James 46, Bosh 42. I'm impressed by Spoelstra. I noticed earlier in the game he brought in 3 guys who sucked together. Then he found a way to play them along with the big 3. He got 7 boards from Miller. Haslem probably shouldn't have played if it were any other coach, and he killed us.
This whole thing feels like it is scripted. The officiating was terrible again, and all lopsided against the bulls. I was shocked that they actually called a travel on LBJ in the fourth. I guess the NBA doesn't make as much money when a series only goes 5 games.
I'm always surprised by what impresses you. Why shouldn't Haslem have played? Spoelstra has nobody else to play and Haslem is the only big guy with any semblance of a real NBA game on the roster . He didn't even dress his other bigs. Spoelstra made a desperation move and got lucky.
And the reason Thibs didn't go back to Boozer was because Miami was collapsing and Boozer doesn't do anything in a crowd. They needed outside shooting and nobody brought any tonight.
Haslem played 7 minutes all season. He had two guys on the bench in street clothes who started 81 games at C for them. As for what impresses me, you probably think we won the game.
Korver brought nothing outside of his lousy shooting. Boozer grabbed 8 boards in 27 minutes, and Taj grabbed 1. They outrebounded us 45 to 41.
Wow, just wow. I saw lots of plays called the Bulls way that were clearly home court advantage. A ball deflected clearly off of Asik, out of bounds to the Bulls. And the play that drew blood on Asik and Wade could only be a foul on Asik since he was standing inside the circle at the baseline and the contact drew blood after all.
Or it could have been called an offensive foul since Asik went straight up and Wade led with his elbow...
Taj was 4-7 and Boozer was 3-10. I think you could say Thibs went to the better offensive player down the stretch. And it's not like you could count on Boozer to shut down Haslem...
And you probably think those guys in street clothes are good. The only thing worse than the bulls losing is reading your inane second guessing.
Terrible. Have to shoot better than 34%. Have to win the rebounding battle. Have to get to the loose balls and win those battles. Rose did look gassed down the stretch. A little rest would help him. But Deng, Boozer and Rose need to bang down shots. We'll win one in Miami. We won't shoot 34% every game.
Also, I'm hardly ever one to complain about the refs, but the Bulls seemed on the verge of busting the game open at the end of the 1st and the refs iced that game down with ticky tack fouls that let the Heat back into it. The Bulls play an aggressive style of D. They can do this to the Bulls whenever they want. There is contact on every play and they can put the Heat in the bonus and make the Bulls have to play passive whenever they want. Very worrisome. That being said, the Bulls still win this game if they hit more wide open shots and a few more FTs. Bulls in 7.
Got to agree with Kukoc and Bullshooter about the calls. The Bulls were ready to ice the game and then there were about six bad calls that went against them in a row. I call bullshit.
Our two weak defenders were 4-17 from the field for 10 points and the Heat did a great job of exploiting the defensive weaknesses. Rose made only 30% of his shots in the game and was held to two points in the 4th. If these things happen in each of the remaining games, there won't be many remaining games for the Bulls. I just don't happen to believe that these things are going to keep happening.
Our strong defenders provided zero points over long stretches of the game. The Heat had three very strong offensive players out there that cannot be held to nothing. It was a matter of time for them to pull away. Thibs clearly felt he needed one of Boozer or Korver out there, and rightfully so. You don't decrease a deficit even if you can stop them every single time but you can't score a single point. For the same reason you keep Rose out there when he's shot 10-30, you pit your other perennial All-Star out there. I mean, we did expect Rose to get hot in Q4 and score us into a victory. I expect Boozer to at least give us defensive boards and maybe he gets hot, too.
Agree. The frustration with Boozer and Korver is a retro thing, that is, at the end of games when either of them have a bad offensive game, you say "we'd've been better off if..." You need to play those guys. They just have to score.
