A few threads/blogs about the prospects: A little bit of info on how they did during their last year of school: Meet The Participants And a thread on their strengths & weaknesses Prospect Scouting Reports I really just want to hear about Nikola. Not sure Singler goes Round 1 and doesn't Tyler have major maturity issues?
Singler will be a Tyler Hansbrough type in the league. Not the most skilled and have the greatest attributes. But outworks his opponent every time on the floor.
I don't know about that. Hansbrough is deceptively very athletic and plays with a mean streak. Singler has neither of these traits.
You havent watched enough Singler than. That guy plays as hard and is as chippy as any player out there.
I think those who want to trade out of this draft are bonkers. We need to be able to get 2-3 players who can be in our Top 10 NEXT YEAR out of this draft. Since we currently have only 2 picks, there's some work to do.
should be interesting with Tyler and Vucevic both therem two C's the Blazers would likely have a shot at
Well let's say that there aren't 2 players to be had who actually belong in an NBA rotation? You really want to pay them for the next three years (like Babbitt) when you might be better off swapping picks into next year's (stronger) draft? Frankly, I think they have far greater odds of getting serviceable rotation quality players with their BAE and MLE, than do trying to finesse this draft.
I think that you're both higher than a kite if you don't think there are 3 players in this draft from #21 to #60 that are worth salary slot (or rookie min) that can play 8-10th man on our team...especially if we do another "consolidation" trade. The problem with the BAE and MLE is that you have to entice someone to play here. Maybe you get lucky with a Wes Matthews type, but I submit that it's harder to find a) someone as good as Wes who will take the MLE AND come to Portland over whoever else is giving him the MLE than it is to find b) a 8-10th man worth 6M over the next 4 years after pick 21 in the draft.
Statistically speaking I agree as well. I listened to a guy do a whole show on the odds of players drafted making it in the NBA. After about pick #17, the odds are not good. To grab 2-3 players that would crack a top 10 would be tough from this draft. None-the-less they are out there. Got to have a little luck
So there is still no news about how yesterday's workout went with Tyler and Vucevic??? I haven't seen a word.
