That article shoots down the urban legend that it was Miller, not Cho that brokered the Wallace trade with Charlotte. The trade is mentioned several times in the article and Larry Miller's name isn't mentioned once. Cho is given credit multiple times for engineering the Wallace trade - by the guy who was on the other end of the phone when the trade happened.

Exactly. I think the Blazers made a big mistake firing the guy. Big mistake.

Well, one thing's for sure, they made a mistake. They either made a mistake when they hired him or when they fired him. Giving a guy a 3 year contract, and praising him for his great people skills, and then firing him 10 months later because he doesn't communicate well is a major fuck up.

I think this hire is confirmation that Paul Allen simply didn't click with the guy; that it had nothing to do with his job performance. Larry Miller probably talked to Jordan and told him that Cho was a good guy who got a raw deal. I doubt Cho gets hired by Jordan (who is close to Miller) if Miller didn't give RC a glowing reference.

Honestly, if you believe the team, they made two mistakes. They made a mistake hiring him, and then they made a bigger one by firing the guy so quickly. I don't care if Paul Allen had a personality conflict with the guy, if he was good at his job then you deal with it. Cho wasn't hired to be Paul's friend. He wasn't hired to take Paul out to dinner and read bedtime stories to him. He was hired because he has a great mind for basketball and is good at his job. How many people do you dislike in your workplace or dislike their personality but respect their work? I'm tired of Paul's ego. He may be the caretaker of the Portland Trail Blazers, but the team belongs to the city of Portland. The Blazers were here years before he drug his ass down from Washington and they'll be here years after. I honestly can't wait for the Paul Allen era to end.

Cho is given credit by his new team. A team selling him to fans. This doesn't shoot down anything.

Come on MM... that makes no sense. They were obviously impressed with their dealings with him. I have no idea why you have such a low opinion of Cho, but the guy wasn't given a fair chance.

Well, obviously the Blazers are dumb here. I mean, Jordans track record speaks for itself.

For all intents and purposes, Cho was hired as Charlottes assistant GM. I am sure they were impressed, and they love his analitical brain, but the article says that he will be assiting Rod Higgins in basketball decisions. I think Cho got a raw deal as well, but I also don't think he should have ever been hired in the first place. I believe to be a successful GM in this league you have to have a bit of salesmanship, and that's not Cho. He seems like a great guy to break trades down by numbers and deal with the cap though.

    Larry Miller isnt going anywhere.

I think its kinda funny that the Bobcats hired the guy that stole their best player and fan favorite.

Best of luck to Cho. He's gonna need it with that squad and fan base.

    I agree with MM ^^^.

I'm guessing the Bobcats were at least marginally impressed with Cho from their dealings with him at the trade deadline, if they hadn't been then why offer him a job?

Oh well, I'm sure Cho sucks and Larry Miller was the chief deal-maker in that Wallace trade. Viva la Vulcan!

What are you basing this on? Do you have a lot of face time with Cho? Do you know what he's like in a meeting? I find it funny that so many fans seem to know the guy so well. Oh, he's not as open with the media so he can't possibly be good at closing a deal or make good decisions. Seriously, I think everyone got too used to KP and his ridiculous overselling to the fans and media. Whitsitt didn't talk much to the media and he was great at making deals.

I have talked to him twice, via phone and email, but never spoken to Cho face to face. Never had a meeting with him either. I also had the oportunity to talk to Whitsitt a few times, including face to face, and he was a great sales guy
