I really like Tony Parker for this team because he's much faster on the break than Andre Miller, he's a better scorer, he's better at finishing at the rim, etc Tony Parker has consistently lived in the paint the last 5 or so years. He's led all guards in pts in the paint I believe. This guy knows how to get in the lane and finish.
Salary aside, Jefferson and Batum are very similar players. Both were absolute disasters in the playoffs this year and inconsistent in the regular season. If it weren't for that last player option season for Jefferson, this would have been a great trade.
Jefferson used as a 6th man type would be a great role for him imo. He likes to score and he looks for his shot. Certainly way more polished on offense than Nic as of right now. That contract though...
Parker this year...Harris in others...Brooks last year... It is a little mystifying why POR cannot seem to close big deals with other teams....
Nearly completed, and the parties don't agree on whether Richard Jefferson should be included in the deal? To me that says "not anywhere near nearly completed". barfo
Jefferson shot over 40% from 3 last season. That could have helped. I understand why the Blazers passed though, Camby or Matthews would have to be included, or a 3rd team would have had to take Jefferson for expirings - probably something no one wanted to do.
