He's a hell of a shooter, no question.

Whether he can defend ANYONE at the NBA level and whether he can get his shot off in the NBA are the two key questions.

    Or Kyle Korver.

    Hell... I'd take Jason Kapono.

We'll see... he's a mid-second rounder. I don't have high hopes but I'm not really upset in any case over that pick (although I'm getting sick of major college seniors).

Well, if he can just do what Rudy was supposed to do (shoot), he'll be OK.

Rudy can run the floor pretty well, and he plays passing lanes extremely well.

I don't think Diebler can do either of those things.

Yeah, he CAN, but he wasn't allowed to do that here anyways, so Diebler only needs to replace Rudy's role on this team which was spot up shooter.

Can't run the floor? He'll fit right in with our walk-it-up-the-floor offense.

    Definitely a Nate pick.

He's our Luke Babbitt, only cheaper. Because Pritchard's gone, we didn't have to pay to switch picks.

We've got a Luke Babbitt, though, and he's on a guaranteed contract for a bit longer. We should wait a couple of years before we seek to replace him with a cheaper model :)

Babbitt, though, can rebound, at least. Diebler is just a shooter. A great shooter, of course. But just a shooter.

The Ohio State campus paper The Lantern, from the first post:
But NBA.com says he made 9 straight and 10 in the game. Next game, he missed 3, then hit 7 straight.

Diebler sounds like Diener, who played for us in 2008-09.

Besides Diebler, Blazer draftees from Ohio State have been Greg Oden (2007) and Granville Waiters (1983).

Some posters compare Diebler to Kyle Korver (from Creighton). I just noticed that like Diebler, Korver was a #51 pick (2003). Lawrence Funderburke (1994) was #51, too, and was from Ohio State, too, but wasn't a Blazer.

Sounds more like Bieber, Justin. Who is apparently some sort of teen idol, not sure.

Its obvious that the Blazer staff saw something in him when he worked out in the Tualatin practice facility. Yes, I agree he needs to work on his pump fakes to shake off the defender for him to dribble around and shoot. If he takes too long to shoot his shots will be blocked. However he has a good pose on his shooting and doesn't seem to miss much regardless on the range away from the basket from the youtube link that I posted earlier.

Here I am hard at work searching databases for coincidences in the #51 spot and you're thinking about Justin Bieber. Of course he's a teenage idol. I have a stack of his albums right here on top of the computer and I'm singing to them while I search for coincidences.

You've never done accounting, have you. You think the big boys look for important stuff. It's the teeny-weeny stuff they can control you with.

Gotta stay on my toes all the time. Okay, back to the databases.

    Wouldn't that be seven-of-ten, not seven-of-eight 3-pointers?

Since I was OD on valium and morphine last Sunday and was sent to ER and back I've been a little confuse at times so I could be wrong.
