This place in July is usually dead as it is, but with the lockout and no summer league, it's straight sleepy in here! Denny, is there a way to show the average postcount on here on an average day? I would love to see what it was like during December or right before the trade deadline compared to today.
this place has been dead for a while. I found a whole new website to go to! PM me to find out how to get CHEAP and HIGH QUALITY FAMS!!!
You talking to geeks on the computer instead of out drinking with friends on this nice summer night and you STILL being a pasty-ass virgin!
There's plenty to talk about. http://www.thesmokinggun.com/buster/new-mexico/nipple-rippler-pleads-guilty-071943 http://www.kdvr.com/news/kdvr-bould...in-smoke-in-its-face-20110706,0,4887269.story
Hard to discuss, nothing going on. I have been a huge NBA fan since Blazers won in 76. I think the NBA is in for some very dark days if they miss the entire season due to the strike. If they miss the entire season and start the following season I think stadiums are going to be empty for a long time. It took steriods to bring fans back to baseball, I am not sure if the NBA will have a magic pill to bring the fans back. The NBA was headed in the wrong direction with the players having too much power about where to play and forming a few super teams. Why buy season tickets when you really only want to watch about 3 teams play anyways.
There was a pretty interesting article on ESPN I read the other day about the lockout, basically saying if we get down to a deadline where extensive games or a season could be lost the owners are going to have some huge internal disagreements. The Miami big 3 are only locked up for 3 more years, their owner would give into any players demands before risking losing one of those season and being closer to breaking up potentially the biggest dynasty of all-time. The Lakers have an aging Kobe and a chance to lure Dwight to town. Dallas just won with an aging roster, they want to try to repeat. NY finally has two stars each better than any player since Ewing. Sorry can't find the link at work. Based on all the information I've been hearing I'll be very surprised if the NBA lockout takes more then a couple regular season games. A short 50 game season is basically worst case scenario in my opinon, and I loved the crazyness and change when they did that in 99. Back to back to back's, regular seasons actually meaning something, a one week winning streak jumping you from bottom of the playoff bracket to the top. It does suck not having actual NBA news from now until the lockout is over; free agency, off-season trades, and summer league are as fun to me as many games in the regular season.
Sure, we all long for Mixum to enliven this board, but friends, Mixum isn't walking through that door. It ain't happening, and we have to make do with what we have.
