I know that the team he is going to play for has a history of NOT paying their players. Hope it works out for him.

Not the brightest move in the world IMO. I wonder how much the insurance premium is going to cost for protecting him against lost NBA wages due to injury?

    The Nets or Turkey.

Hmmm ... I'd probably pick Turkey too.

This is a very under-appreciated aspect of playing in Europe. Several of the clubs have a reputation for offering bigger contracts and then not honoring them.

I think players going to play in Europe only help the owners gain fan support for their side . . . whether that has any inpact on the CBA, I don't know.

There won't be jobs for everyone over there either, so it will divide the union IMO

Why do you think the fans would object to players going over to Europe? Injury?

I don't really have a problem with it but think they'd be idiots to do it... unless they've got a good Aflac policy.

I can see that working in favor of the owners, divide and conquer!

Maybe I wrong about. My thought was the situation is owners saying they are losing money, players say BS we want more or the same and both sides are going to sit out, losing money, until they figure this out.

But now it is more like players saying, fine sit down and figure it out, but in the meantime we will go overseas and make money, then when you all figure it out we will come back to the NBA and make money. And to add it is Williams (who gets a fat paycheck) deciding he will go make more money in Europe. So all these baseline players or players making a couple millions are expected to sit home and make nothing with the big salary players having no sense of urgency or showing any kind of leadership of a union by only doing what is in their best interest.

I guess I can respect players making a stand, tough time respecting them making their "stand" while playing in Europe. But apparently that could just be me. :D

Oh, yeah, that makes a lot of sense.

I'm so detached from these millionaire arguing with bazillionaires about how poor they are I've just stopped caring what happens. I'm so disgusted for all of the other employees who are like the rest of us just trying to get by. I've never thought about those minimum salary guys who aren't going to be able to able to work and probably don't have a ton of cushion in their bank accounts.
