Looks like they filled the back of that police Durango with Jefferson's personal items. Don't know about down there, but in Oregon, a search warrant isn't always easy to get approved. I'm thinking the police are very serious about all this. I'm guessing items of Jefferson's clothing will be sent to a crime lab and evaluated for DNA/blood, that would match the victims. If it does, an immediate arrest warrant will be issued. BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Baton Rouge police executed a search warrant at the apartment of LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson late Wednesday afternoon. Baton Rouge Police Sergeant Don Stone says investigators gathered enough probable cause to execute a search for certain items that will "help prove or disprove the allegations against him (Jefferson)." Police left the apartment near LSU with several paper bags filled with items they seized from Jefferson's apartment. Police would not say what items were seized. Jefferson was at home at the time of the se The search warrant was signed by District Court Judge Chip Moore, WAFB's Jim Shannon reported. Jefferson is one of four LSU football players police are investigating in connection with a fight at Shady's bar near the LSU campus last week. The fight sent four young men, who are not members of the team, to a hospital for treatment. Police say one of the victims has three fractured vertebrae. The four implicated players were interviewed by police for several hours Tuesday. As of 6:30pm Wednesday, no arrests had been made in the case.http://www.wafb.com/story/15328337/search-warrant-issued-at-home-of-lsu-qb-jordan-jefferson
He would have to be a complete fucking idiot to have anything incriminating in his apartment this far after the fight. Especially after talking to an attorney. This looks more like "Going through the motions" by the cops to me.
Mmmm, I don't think so. Have to remember that we have victims who have filed charges, apparent witnesses and injuries including three fractured verterbrae. The victims have personal lawyers. The police have a job to do, and if they fail, this can be brought to the district attorney and state level. This isn't as easy as sweepy-sweepy...we're talking potential felony charges. It all seems legit to me.
This happened when, last Thursday? Friday? and they're searching his place on a Wednesday? Cops searched Zach Randolph's house 10hrs after first receiving the complaint so evidence didn't get destroyed. Like I said, if Jefferson did just get caught with anything incriminating he's a fucking idiot.
Totally different case, man. If we're talking about the same ZR situation, the beating took place in a private residence, so it required a search warrant into a private residence in order to obtain possible evidence and interview wintesses. In this case, the location of the assault is public and the warrant was used to confiscate private property -- enforcement personnel must compose a general list of items to be confiscated, AFTER speaking with victims and witnesses. It's a totally different case and you can't compare the two. And no, if police find evidence of the victims blood/DNA - Jefferson is NOT an idiot. Most people don't know DNA can be transferred and spread to clothing via washing machines, placing clothes on a floor, shoes touching other shoes or a wall or walking through a house. Maybe they find something hidden away on email on a PC or texts on a cell phone. Criminals get caught because they are criminals...most are stupid, but sometimes the smart ones aren't aware of how crafty police can be in getting enough evidence for a grand jury. If Jefferson is guilty of what he is being accused of (and I believe that he has been accused of beating a man and kicking him in the head when the man was defenseless) there WILL be DNA/and or other evidence found - no matter how smart he is.
I lost interest on this entire thing on Tuesday when I was driving back from vacation and heard Isaac Ropp state "if there isn't video, there is no case" on 1080theFan. These are the 'geniuses' we're dealing with in Portland. Yes, Isaac, if there isn't video of any crime, there is no case. What a phucking moron. Unless there is video, there is no crime, according to him. He's actually paid to be on the radio?
So, if someone gave him the beating of his life in a dark alley, there would be no crime because it wasn't on camera? What a bag! What if there happen to be five witnesses but still no camera?
