Katt is one of my favorite comedians and this video has become really popular lately. Williams is telling off a Mexican heckler, eventually leading to some heated remarks.

Wasn't able to listen to a lot of it because of where I am, but from what I understood, I can kinda see his point, though I think he was way too caught up in the heat of the moment and went off in a rage, spewing things he shouldn't have said.

I guess I'm kinda confused as to why that guy was heckling him. Maybe he was making some racist jokes? I know Arizona is pretty heated right now after their new law. From what I remember, Katt Williams isn't a racist.

This is really interesting, IMO. Let me know what you think.

Racist? Understandable? Amurrica... Fuck yeah!? He needs to STFU?

Edit: The title of this thread is somewhat misleading... and from what I hear, he has issued an apology (the standard "I respect my Mexican fans and would not go out of my way to offend them")

As for myself, If I can get past Katt Williams kinda losing himself in this back and forth and listen to his reasoning, I think some of what he says makes sense.

There was this YouTube comment that I agreed with a little (LOL)...

That is kinda what I was thinking, though its not like you can't love Mexico and America.

Apparently some Arizona civil rights leader is calling to ban all future Katt Williams' shows.

2 things you have to realize that 1) he is an entertainer. The best thing that he can do on any night is to make his audience bust up laughing and not stop. Most comedians will do anything to accomplish that. 2)he is black. Where I grew up, all my black friends used to just sit around and crack on each other..... whether it was Yo Mama jokes or whatever. As a non black kid in that environment, you had to step your game up or nobody would respect you. I remember the first time I got some cracks or "stings" as we used to call it back at people. 6th grade on the bus to school....... and I never looked back. What the average person on the street would consider horribly rude, we just thought it was how you had fun. There is a white guy that I work with that came from the same neighborhood and he has the same approach. Other workers will tell me they hate it when they sit at the same table at us! This is just crude entertainment. I'm sure he likes hispanic people as much as any other.

meh... I will say though any time I hear a taunt or a chant that just involves singing the Star Spangled Banner, or yelling USA over and over... it makes me hate America a little.. and I know I can leave ;)

at the Timbers vs Vancouver game a couple weeks ago, after the Whitecaps scored Some people in the TA (not long standing people) tried starting a USA Chant in response to the goal. So glad it didnt catch on, not that I thought it would have, but still kinda embarrassing lol.

me either my friend. But I dont understand "God Bless America" when people from other countries pray to the same God. And I dont understand two priests of the same religion blessing two sides of a war. There is a lot of stuff I just dont get. I do try and respect them though (sometimes)

I think this was on a more personal level, not a racial rant against a race of people. There isn't a a microphone on the Mexican guy, but you have to assume he said some racial shit to Katt. Either way, I laughed my ass off.

I didn't think it was that racist... I think it's unfair that we can bash on the French or the Germans, but if you makes jokes about Mexico you're a racist.

I also did after I had a chance to listen to the whole thing. It would have been more clear if we actually did hear what the other guy was saying to Katt.

Racial sensitivity seems to be very high right now. But it seems like bashing whites is generally okay. I guess it is actually hard to offend white people...

I don't think I've ever done that, but I don't see how it would be a problem other than it being kinda awkward. Americans have always been super patriotic, and for good reason considering we live in the greatest country on Earth.

Oh not saying its a problem or offensive or anything at all. It just leads me to believe that someone doesnt have anything smarter to say, or original to add so they just start yelling that. Know what I mean?

Watched this yesterday. Would normally say a heckler deserves what he gets, with the rare exception (Michael Richards being one--but only because it wasn't funny). Wasn't really offensive. Interesting that he seems to be so gay for America all of a sudden. Maybe he was just playing it up. Williams has been in worse shape on stage lately.
