People hate when rich folks like him and Buffet come out in favor of higher taxes because it shows the flaw in their logic that voters are in favor of the tax increases simply because others bear the burden and not because they think it is best for the country.

I mean two unfunded wars and a record deficit/debt is a great time to give record tax breaks to the rich. How about we raise taxes and cut spending, get out of the wars, then when things start to stable cut taxes again.

While this logic may not be perfect, at least it made me laugh.

To be fair, I don't think Cuban represents rich people.... how many Americans have billions of dollars? He's probably in the one percentile. I might be wrong, but I would think that "rich Americans" would fall more in the 100k-200k per year range. Not even the millions.

Aw, that's cute. Your problem is that one position supports equal rights (gay marriage) while the other position punishes success. You keep reaching for that rainbow, though.

Nice try. I hate it because I'm well off enough to likely qualify, but the new taxes would really sting me both right now and my progeny in the future. Now if I were at the level of Buffett and Cuban, I could pretend that I wanted to pay more taxes, because even taking an extra third of my income wouldn't be noticable.

Are you out of your mind? Making $100-200K in Manhattan barely makes ends meet.

Is Manhattan indicative of the other 49 states?

You could name several other metro areas in this country and it would be the same thing. Boston, DC, Bay Area, LA, etc. Just because we live in relatively cheap areas doesn't mean that we can name a middle class salary like that and call it "rich".

once again, the minority wants it their way, too bad we live in a democracy

so now all we need to do is make poor people too jaded to vote, then all the upper middle class people can get their way

    this is dumb

are you really saying that 200k will barely make ends meet in NY? in DC? in LA? wtf

i have a feeling you are referring to super rich 10 million dollar home neighborhoods...and if so :biglaugh: you can rent an apartment in manhattan for $4000 a month, that is less than 25% of 200k, well within a healthy percentage, gimme a break

or are you talking about driving a fancy car?...what ARE you talking about?

Ever hear of taxes? Food? Clothes? When I lived in Manhattan my shitty car was at my uncle's in New Jersey, so it was my bike, cars, taxis and the subway for me. Remember, he said $100-$200K. I've lived in all the places I've referred and understand the cost structure, have you?

I'm glad I read this thread just in time. Yesterday the boss offered me $250,000 to move to Manhattan and I said, "No way man, this guy Maxiep says that I'll come out ahead making my $30,000 in Portland."

So they gave it to that dumbshit Lorenzo. I've never figured out why Lorenzo keeps moving up and I don't.

Cuban loves Fox Business channel, calm down people lol. He's still not a die hard demy. I saw him on Cavuto and he kept slurping that guy up.

Mr whatever, your strategies have failed in the international political economy. Do a little compare and contrast with other failed countries, before suggesting random stuff.

Dude, jesus nobody cares man. Buffett is a hypocritical brat who is dodging 1 billion dollars in taxes owed. Lol what a troll he is in this discussion.

And? More white people collect welfare than other minorities. Not to mention it is just a tangent, most minorities that don't get ANY welfare at all, do better. This includes Chinese-Americans and immigrants who are also Black.

Congress mostly has zero background in economics, it is pretty obvious why we are struggling financially.

Most people should not vote, it is as simple as that. I'm happy whenever some lazy uninformed guy stays home on election day.

I'm Libertarian, and I think this is a bad argument.

People that make 30 K a year are well off, you need to remember what it is like for other countries.

Nonsensical tax strategy. Why cut taxes at all in good times? They're supposed to be good for the economy at all times, by generating "Revenue". If that even makes sense.

What do you think people do when taxes become superfluous? They move to other countries, the richest and best corporations bail out. Do some studying on how they affect behavior historically, nobody cares about your random theories until you use objective evidence. Marginal tax rates fluctuate throughout our history, pick up a book or something. This isn't philosophy class.
