Re: Perry.......The Enigma This is all that matters too, he has gotten it done. Lol, look at these ugly trolls in congress trying to attack Perry's job creation. I find it amusing. His conservative social views mean nothing to me. I'll take the cash and ask for a Libertarian President later, if ever. Cool stuff.
Perry's social policies are too radical to get him elected. I think Romney gives them the best chance. Its too soon after the Bush disaster to consider a Texas governor for president, IMO.
If you followed the campaign at all, you would know Bush and Perry are on bad terms. His friends hate Perry too.
And? It doesn't matter what terms they are on. There are A LOT of similarities. In my opinion, too many to get him elected.
Honestly? Bc he gets a vote. Geniuses and idiots get the same one vote. Religious nut jobs and atheist nut jobs, ditto. Democrats and republicans? One each (except in Chicago).
Based on the polling I've seen, Perry will have a close call. But as far as Mrsomething's opinion being equal, that's not true. He is not going to convince America with that argument. Lefties will have a tough time proving that Perry = Bush, economically speaking. However if Perry keeps talking about evolution, that type of stuff is going to screw him.
when has the last "atheist nut job" had any ANY clout in any election that mattered? I don't care if Illinois gets 2 votes per person, thats not why Kennedy won in 60, and it's not why Obama won in 08
Perry talking at all screws him. He should talk about Texas doing well in comparison to the left of the country and try to avoid speaking outside of that.
There are a number of debates between now and mid-October. It's then that Perry will prove whether or not he belongs. When there's a contested primary in either party, it's the candidates that generate more heat than light that get the attention.
I didn't a lot of this thread, what are your thoughts of him? And thoughts of his electability? I think sound bites like the "Ask him" one are going to cost him with independents.
I think his Texas swagger will hurt him with independents, because it will remind them of President Bush. However, when it comes to spending, he's no George W. Bush. However, he'll have to distinguish himself from President Bush in the debates and in any interviews. He's a little too socially conservative for me, but fiscally he's pretty good. I have no idea about his foreign policy, so I'll have to wait and see.
"Uuhuhuh America huhuh? " Dude you're intentionally being dumb or something. Your weakass argument doesn't work, your opinion has lower value than mine. America = your colleagues or whatever. I assume you sometimes discuss these matters in public. Yes in terms of convincing your peers that Perry = Bush, your opinion is weak. So you don't matter.
Typing on a message board =/= giving advice. Ahhh... now I get what you were trying to say. Well played sire, well played.
