Anyone who votes for this guy in 2012 should be made sterile so they can't make anymore that think like them

Your quote doesn't match the link, specifically the last part of the bolded section. What's up with that?

I have found my daily outrage! I am a Republican and I need my daily fix to motivate myself to think at a conscious level! I am offended!

Ah, that was fun. Get cracking on finding tomorrow's outrage. I'll return to my narcissistic subconscious stupor until you call me.

Yeah, it's missing the part where Obama's bow-tie spins and he tells everyone to try the veal.

Dunno. ABC must have sanitized it once it started being spread.

Is Whitehouse.gov a good enough source for you, or are you just going to make some other lame-ass deflection?

He's no longer trying to appeal to moderates. He's shoring up his base, who eats stuff like this up.

Has the Wimp-in-Chief read my posts and is finally starting to fight Republicans?

Nope, he hasn't changed. He tells the audience "No, no, don't laugh." He's still trying to appease Republicans. As this thread shows, that never works. They'll just twist it around against him.

    That's good enough, thanks.

As for the subject matter, it seems to me that what he said is literally true. Texas is on fire, and Perry is a climate change denier.

I just think it's funny how it's gone from "global warming" to "climate change".....there's a huge difference between an assertion that the planet is getting warmer as a whole, to simply saying "climate is changing." Seems like a cheap trick to cover their ass.

Definitely in poor taste but it plays well with the base. He also points out what plays well with the base on the other side of the aisle:

Or maybe he's "cracking jokes" about how people don't see the forest for the trees.

Wait, forests catch fires, and I don't want people to think I'm cracking jokes here.

It seems that if you want to see something negative, you'll do whatever it is to satisfy your mental image of what makes it negative. As far as political talking points go, this one is a rather tame one to pick on. Instead of realizing he was actually "cracking" on Perry denying (or for a better word, downplaying) the climate change that he (and others) believe to be true, let's make it out that he's "cracking" on Texas instead. And the people who lost their homes, etc.

Because how can someone who is a real American do that? I guess we should be thankful he didn't ask them about their bedroom slippers.

I'm just wondering if you were this outraged when Bush (ooh, I know..."Blame Bush!!!!!!!!!!111!!1!!!") did these jokes?

I'm willing to bet more peoples lives were lost in Iraq then there were in the Texas fires. And yes, I know this was done at an event where it's supposed to be funny, but why did our president then hate our troops (in the same way that Obama obviously hates and mocks Texans)!?!?!?

And no, me saying this doesn't mean I don't have compassion for the people in Texas who lost their homes either. It means I can actually use the logic portion of my brain.

you are aware that global waring doesn't necessarily mean that it is only about being warmer, right? It means that the temperatures during the warmer seasons are warmer, which in turn have an impact on the colder parts of the years.

Not trying to be an ass, but that has to be the oddest comment you've made. There is NO president that has ever been "everyone's president". Even during the peak of GW's popularity, or Clintons, he wasn't "everyone's President".

As for the whole point of these kinds of threads? See my signature.

They might've. But there are certain factions of the country who almost no matter what, will try to find something the "other guy" did as wrong. like I said, even during Bush's insane popularity (post 9-11), there were people who felt he wasn't doing what was good for "everyone".

That was during the stage where he could fart and people would think it was a symphony.

You can't deny that there are times when both parties have groups who blindly see what the other side does as wrong, no matter what. yes, there are times when that isn't as obvious, but come close to the election, it seeps it's way into our minds because we're so desperate for our side to win.

This is phoney outrage, sorry if people don't believe it. I'm not saying that people can't be upset with him as a president or that there aren't reasons to be upset, but this is like when people where just looking for ANY reason to hate George Bush (oh no! I brought him up again). Some of it just started to get silly, and pointless. This is a silly and pointless complaint.

Because clearly anyone who actually wants to think knows he isn't cracking on people who lost their homes, no more then Bush didn't care for people in Katrina when he was with John McCain (or whatever it was he was with), or some of the other asinine comments that republican candidates say at their rallies. People need something to rally against, and for some reason this is the current target (when there are far far far better targets to go after).

The same thing happened to Bush around election time and Clinton. It's part and parcel with partisan politics. Quick soundbites that are cut out of context, comments taken waaaaay out of context and arguments made full of holes.

It's no wonder we have a large chunk of our voting populace who don't vote. They're tired of the typical bullshit that comes from both the right and the left nutjobs.
