Same mentality here as with a rapist.

He deserves to be flogged himself, then exiled to Iran where this sort of cowardice is the norm.

She has had ataxic cerebral palsy from birth that led her to a passion for technology, which was strictly forbidden by her father's backwards views. The judge's wife was emotionally abused herself and was severely manipulated into assisting the beating and should not be blamed for any content in this video. The judge's wife has since left the marriage due to the abuse, which continues to this day, and has sincerely apologized and repented for her part and for allowing such a thing, long before this video was even revealed to exist. Judge William Adams is not fit to be anywhere near the law system if he can't even exercise fit judgement as a parent himself. Do not allow this man to ever be re-elected again. When I was young, my father spanked me with a belt, but without any viciousness. He only spanked me a handful of times, and never with enough force to cause real pain. In my case, he used it judiciously only when I did something that put me in danger, like when I was 7 and just left for a 4 hour walk in the desert in my underwear. It was meant to scare, not cause pain.

The last time I ever got spanked, I was around 9 or 10, and this time was with his hand, not a belt. I forget why I was getting spanked that time, but my father sent me to my room and told me that he was going to come back and spank me. I took a piece of styrofoam from some toy I got from the Boston space museum, and stuffed the styrofoam down my pants. My Dad came in, told me to bend over his knee, and lowered his hand to spank. Thud! was the sound from the spank instead of the slap sound that would normally arise. My father checked to see what was going on and pulled out the styrofoam and just started laughing. He stood up, said I was too old for spankings and told me to come out to the dining room where we could discuss whatever it was that I did wrong.

 

All spanking is child abuse. I've said it before, I'll say it again. There's no difference. You try to make your kids right by smacking them? What the fuck is that.

 

Although I would never spank a child, I would not go so far as to say "all spanking is child abuse". As I explained in my above post, my father spanked me a few times, but i was never abused. spanking in my case was meant only to scare me a little and remember that moment and be able to associate it with doing something dangerous. Not once, as far as I can remember, did I get so much as a red bottom that would last more than 2 minutes.

 

Spanking used to be standard for both sexes. I watched my friend's 5-year-old sister get spanked once. We military brats got the belt from the Colonels. I went to school one day in the 8th grade with red marks on my leg the same shape as the tip of a belt. Got a wooden ruler broken over my head once. Far more often, I was threatened with a belt and quickly shut my mouth. You don't have to belt often to make the threats work.

But girls just got spanked, not belted, and this one in the video is age 16, which would have been unusual even back then. When I was 14 I stopped it by hitting back. Gave him 2 black eyes and he never hit me again. This was a typical military family and to a lesser degree nowadays, probabaly still is.

If you watched her in the video, you know that she initiated, and wasn't just an accomplice. This is just more manhater bullshit from the legal system--not holding women responsible for their actions as if they're children. My mother was influenced by the Colonel but only used a coat hanger on me.

I love my dead parents very much and miss them. It's easier to believe in Love Thy Neighbor if you've been oppressed. It's easier to believe in war and torture if you weren't oppressed. The pseudo-humane government wants to stop kids from getting hit because suffering turns you into a liberal, and not suffering makes you a heartless warmonger.

 

Completely disagree. I've spanked my kids like once each in 12 years. Three swift whacks with a belt and didn't even draw back very far. I hated it, but knew the "act" was necessary. As the act itself is enough of a deterrent and to let them know you're serious. It's the parents who claim "all spanking is child abuse" that have the terrible children running amok in public while my kids just watch and shake their heads.

What this guy did in the video was not spanking though. That was beating.

What do you do, or would you do, if timeouts, groundings from stuff they like, etc, don't work. What if your child is still doing something that is wrong. What is the next step?

 

That left me stunned. He's cursing and beating her into submission. That's not disciplining a child, its child abuse.

I'll give the girl credit, she's tough! I find it a little funny that the compter/internet that he hates so much is what got him busted. I cant wait to see what happens to this piece of shit!

If you have to resort to physical violence to assert your authority and call that "great parenting", I guess that's better than having children "run amok" and shake your heads as you slap your kids again, then tell them you're doing it out of love.

 

If your wife is out of line, is it ok to slap her, just as long as her face gets a red face for less than 2 minutes?

 

You make the timeouts, groundings, etc work then. If you have to hit your children, you're doing something wrong. Its the easy way out.
