Que? o0 I know it's a new location -- the 1928 Kress Building. Great location for visiting NBA players. Nikeortland is directly across the street from 'the Nines'.
One would think that's bad news but considering the market/economy, having a start-date is very good news!
Without a Doubt! now next up on my list of long awaiting buildings, is the One Waterfront Place. Maybe once the streetcar gets rolling across broadway, they'll see the value.
They reduced the height just as the economy was taking the nosedive; would they, or could they, go back to the original design and height? They took out (and added office space) 10-floors of residential. If they took the blinders off and thought long-term I could see it happening. But the long layover (it'll total up to five years when they re-start) I doubt it. Though, even with the reduced height (still 70' taller than the Fox tower) it's a nice contrast to the area:
