I'm impressed with Georgia - - a strong team. Their only conference loss was S. Carolina - a game they only lost by 3 and should have won. Looking like a 7-1 div champ team. Murry has a stronger arm than I expected. He completes over 60% of his passes and has 23 TD's on the season. Excellent run defense with a MONSTER ND - 352 pound gap filling monster. Excellent speedy LB's and ends. I like this team. Guess which team handed them their worst loss and was the only team to dominate them?? Boise St We Ducks like to hang our hats on the 'beat SEC teams' hook via Tenn and Miss St x2 - but, how long has it been since we've dominated an SEC team who won their div? Ever?
Cupcake U, really? BSU's OOC games are against teams who are 16-2 in their conferences, including an SEC team who will most likely win their division Stronger than Oregon's OOC schedule. (TCU is also a two loss team with no conference losses)
It's a losing cause with him in this regard, Targus. To his death, BP will maintain that BSU, by virtue of their wimpy conference, coupled with their continued OOC scheduling against teams such as St. Mary's School Of The Blind, will never be worthy of legitimate BCS rankings.
Oh, def not nearly as strong as the Pac. Not a single ranked team. Doesn't even compare. That is something I'm willing to concede, too bad others are too proud to concede anything regarding their opinions. LOL. That said, BSU as "cupcake u" plays a respectable OOC schedule.
LOL, thanks for that, ABM. It's too bad though. What more does BSU need to do to prove themselves - beat more SEC teams? Beat Oregon a third time? Win another BCS game? People often ignore the fact that we play Nevada's, Miso St's, etc. and BSU beats up a div winning SEC team - and still gets called cupcake. No factual basis for it whatsoever - when looking at OOC schedule.
I don't think anyone would disagree that if Cupcake State played in the PAC-12, SEC, Big 12..... they would lose a minimum of 4 games per year. They just don't have the depth to withstand what it takes to win in a major conference.
Interesting. They consistently win their conference. In 2008 the mountain west had a 69% winning rate against OOC teams going back. WAC, PAC, MAC and Con USA had the lowest winning %. Saying BSU couldn't compete in a larger/major conference is pure speculation. They consistently play teams who have fielded VERY good and ranked teams like TCU, Nevada, Hawaii, Fresno St and Air Force. You know what's interesting, BP? I live in SEC country. It's all about SEC here. People actually like Oregon and most of my team has come to cheer on the Ducks via osmosis (it's hard to be around me and not be flooded with Duck talk, lol.) Maybe they just do it so I'll stop arguing with them, lol, but I'd like to think they respect and want to see the "small time" program compete. One thing I consistently hear from them is an SEC bias in that the consensus is that Oregon is a great team, but would be a 2-3 loss team if playing in the Southeastern - East Division or Southeastern - West Division. I disagree on the Eastern, but agree on the West. Why? Because we can't beat top ranked SEC teams. It's proven. BSU? They don't just beat PAC and SEC top teams, they dominate them. So, I strongly disagree with you - based on games, performances, results, scores, patterns - and not on specuation.
