That's a lot of points. I expect Riley to key in on how USC was successful and expect Mannion to throw, throw, throw. Luckily, he doesn't have the accuracy or strength that Barkley has - nor the OL or the WR's or the strong RB's. I think it could be uncomfortably closer than 29.5, but Ducks are going to put up a lot of points on OSU. Go Ducks!! http://www.vegasinsider.com/college-football/odds/las-vegas/
I am no Beaver hater like a lot of Duck fans. I might be if they were an elite team as well though? Anyway, this is the one week I hope they do get killed. Oregon needs an easy blow out with no injuries so they can deal with either UCLA or UTAH. Which by the way cracks me up that either of those schools has a chance to win the Pac 12 south
That's too many points. I expect an outcome similar to last years 37-20 game. OSU might make it ugly in the first half, but The Ducks will wear them down in the 2nd half. They will not win by 30 points.
Well never would've thought Iowa St could beat Oky State so who knows right? 2 and 3 years ago Oregon destroyed our Rose Bowl dream so I'd love to return the favor. I know we have no buisness winning this game but we got nothing to lose this year!
Heard some quote by Chip Kelley where he said their practicing punt coverage because we punt so much. What a cheap shot. Hey I'm not under an illusion we're good or anything but I'm just suprised the opposing head coach would say bulletin board things like that.
Punt coverage or punt returns? How exactly is that a cheap shot? I would guess it would be more of a cheap shot if Oregon didn't recently put an important punt on the turf and if OSU wasn't one of the most punting teams in the conference. Turnovers are key and this is an important rivalry game. Oregon needs to be prepared. I freely admit to having yellow colored glasses but I just don't see the cheap shot. I guess I see Riley's comment that the third/forth leading RB in the conference is the best running back and no LMJ (conference leader with nearly 50 more ypg than Cal's) as more of a legit cheap shot. Here's to a good and injury free game! Oh, and get that punters let fired up - it's gonna be a long day for him!
Maybe I'm just a paranoid depressed beaver fan this season but to me it came across as "Their team is so bad we're only working on punting stuff because they'll be punting the ball all game long"
Ah, dude. Cheer up. It's a gloomy season but the Beavs are rebuilding and have been devastated by freak injuries - left and right. The team has shown a lot of heart in big wins against both Washington teams -- how good is it to dominate the Washington's?? You've got some strong points to build on and some nice recruits. Attendance is finally back up and if OSU can figure out a way to raise funds for facilities upgrades, you'll be back in the mix. I've really been a Riley supporter in the past but kinda changed my tune this year. He just seems a step behind, no fire at all. I don't like how he treated Katz. But, that said, both Riley and Chip are very respectful coaches. This is a great rivalry. A win to Oregon means, most likely, Pasadena. A win to Oregon State means huge respect, finishing the season on a high note and repayment to Oregon for taking OSU out of the Rose Bowl two years in a row. You never know -- but one things for sure - both teams are going to be jacked up!
BTW - I hate having LMJ back to field punt returns. He's too valuable be getting drilled and that brace seems like it would be hard to catch with. Trust me, it's an area that does need work, lol. I'm hoping to see DAT or Huff back there - and this could [/I] be what we're working on.
