It's to announce that Nate has been watching a lot of soccer during the lockout and is intrigued how a sport that can end with the score of 1-0. Because of this Nate would like to slow down the tempo even more so that there won't be any further damage to Roy's knees and would give the team the chance to focus on defense. In support of this Larry Miller is going to petition the league to try out a 7 min shot clock this season.
I don't want to ... you know ... make any statements. it's a process. We feel we have the best fans in the world, Paul is still committed to bringing a championship to Portland ... and you know ... it's not just one person, we've got a team of people making decisions ... and you know ... Looking at this from that angle, Nate has actually made more than a few trips to Eugene to watch UO football practices and games. Perhaps he'll be a bit inspired by the Duck fast-break offense, and will finally allow the team to run a bit, even if it means a few more turnovers?
