I would trade batum for Rondo. If possible i'd like to keep him and Aldridge but if that wouldn't be possible than I'd be willing to give up batum. But I feel like we would need to change some things offensively to utilize rondo better.

That's not the original trade proposed nor the one I was responding to. In the OP, is says Felton + Batum for Rondo. Wes and Wallace were not included.

Obviously that wouldn't be the entire package. It doesn't come close to working under the cap, we'd have to bring in a third team as Boston lacks assets outside their four core players.

Okay, he had the one I mentioned on another trade, The Felton/Batum trade is reasonable - just depends on how one values Felton and Rondo and Nic this yr is definately an X factor - he could blow up. Personally I don't do it.

I really don't get Ainge. He seems to love fucking with Rondo. He's been trading Rondo practically since his first year and he's always pretty lukewarm about him. Rondo has been, in the circumstances, incredibly loyal, always saying he wants to stay with the Celtics, and he signed for a very reasonable amount.

Perhaps the worry is that the "big three" are going to be gone soon, and they're the only ones keeping him in line, because Doc Rivers said Rondo was at his jerkiest his rookie year because he was surrounded by scrubs and it drove him berserk.

(You'd think Ainge of all people would respect a jerky player who lays it all out there...)

As one of the biggest supporters of Nic on this board, I would whole heartedly support giving up Nic to get Rondo. It would hurt, but Rajon is just a far better player.

If Ainge is shopping him, there's a convincing reason for him to do so.

    I pass.

Rondo is over-rated. Playing with 3 future HOF'ers tends to do that.

    tlong beat me to it.

When he's playing with 3 HoFers, then he's pretty damn elite. When he's only playing with two HoFers, he's on par with Devin Harris.

Tom Haberstroh already looked at this:

Wow, I am surprised there are so many yeses. Rondo is being shopped for a reason. He also can't hit a jumper to save his life. Batum is better overall for sure

I'm always amazed at the ones who mock and bash our coaches, players, ownership, and front office for poor decisions, inabilities, etc. And bash our fan base for over rating some, but then they too have that inability to trade away the potential and the unknown for a very good known quantity.

Do you really think Batum is "unknown"? I view Rondo as more of an unknown because of the old saying Snapper used to say. Be wary of players that put up stats on a good team. Most of the time when they go to a worse team, they are exposed

Yes and it's not even close. Rondo is an All Star point guard who has led his team to the Finals twice and has nearly averaged a triple double in a playoff series. Batum is a backup SF who disappears in the playoffs.

Wait, Batum AND Felton? That's different. I would trade Batum for Rondo, but if we're losing Felton too (who could go elsewhere in a trade for another player or be our backup), I'm not so sure.
