Isn't there incentives added to the base pay? I doubt he hits any of them. So if you take them out; how much is truly the Blazers on the hook for. Regardless, it's still a lot to dish out. I just want to know how much it is.
The only "incentives" were that the last 25% of the last year (2014-15) were unguaranteed, and he had to meet only one of the following to get the other 25%. (which comes out to a little under 5M) Contract contains a trade kicker for the lesser of $4,000,000 or 15%. The final year is only 75% guaranteed, but becomes fully guaranteed if any one of the following happens:
This looks like a contract Roy's agent put together and basically Portland said "Whatever man, lets do this!" Hahahahaha
No. THat was not the case at all. If you remember, the Blazers didnt even want to give the player option in year 5 and wanted it to be a team option. Those negotiations drew out for over two weeks, and only after delusional Blazer fans started getting angry at management did they give in to all of Roy's demand. Sounds familiar huh? Blazer fans that dont know shit pushing to never amnesty Roy.... sigh
Yes, and the nail was the size of a stake to Dracula's heart. Pritchard not only did no negotiating, he took Roy's side against management, and complained to Roy that Pritchard himself was underpaid. Pritchard is a great public relations specialist, an average head scout, and a terrible businessman/GM.
