So once we do sign this FA for the mini-MLE (like Chad mentioned in the PC in the afternoon), there's no point to waiving Roy, right (outside of simply helping PA's wallet)?
I'm ok with moving him. Would be curious about that package you mention, as it's a good 16-17 million in salary between those two. And, expiring, but not a rebuilding package for a team. So might be difficult to find the right match. Wallace, Felton and extras for Rondo and O'Neal?
Bingo. Though, we'd obviously have to add in another asset to get Bostons attention. But this is the type of move we should make.
Joel, Camby and Oden . . . I would think, combined, they should be able to play at least half the minutes at the center spot this season, given it is a shorten season and all.
That was a good one, I almost fell out of my chair when I read that... wait.... You weren't serious? Were you?
I'm absolutely serious. I see what the Blazers are doing. They're building a team with extensive depth at every position with the possible exception of PG. Of course everything will depend on how our health holds up, but I like what I see. This team should be able to excel at the back to back to back scenarios expected this season.
The thing that has kinda' bugged me is I think we could have gotten more in return for Bayless,Martell and Rudy. We went from 2 solid 5 player units to what seems to be a pretty thin bench.
Yeah but even on this current team all three of those guys would be 3rd string. Bayless maybe being the exception depending how Smith turns out. But they were not happy about playing time 2 years ago. It would be worse now.
