I'd say so. I'm not sure Odom and Gasol for CP3 makes LA much better this year either. IMO it seemed like a play to keep the Lakers relevant for life after Kobe. i mean CP3 is an amazing talent and in the long run it would help LA alot, but Having Bynum as your only premier big would be scary with his injury history.
Wait, I thought the league was rigged and only trying to help LA. Why would they not allow them to get Paul then? Help me out people.
Got to love the NBA. Just today, before training camp even starts, you have superstars dictating where they go, you have all powerful Stern abusing his power, you got Chandler signing a 58 million dollar contract with NY, Bilups gets waived (still gets his 14 plus million) and threatens not to play for a "non contender". “He’s irate under the circumstances,” Miller said. “He felt this would be his final destination, and he was promised that he would be playing for a team that was going to be competing for the playoffs. He has no intention of being open-minded about any possible situation where a team would claim him off waivers unless it’s a team he chooses himself. Buyer beware.” What exactly was the lockout about and what has it accomplished? I think nothing was learned and the NBA is heading in the same direction . . . the wrong direction.
Eye on Basketball @EyeOnBasketball Glen Davis traded to Orlando for Brandon Bass. bit.ly/uzlmcP Weird and interesting. Much like all of today.
Mario Chalmers and James Jones stay with Heat. http://espn.go.com/nba/truehoop/mia...rio-chalmers-miami-heat-agree-slated-practice
Back in 2005, maybe. If you want to go the amnesty rout you look at Billups and Biedrins before Arenas.
Thornton's deal is massive. I thought he'd get a contract in the ballpark of what Chuck Hayes got. $8m a year for a guy that should be a spark off the bench (ala Barea) is a lot of money.
That was my reaction to the amount Thornton got as well. Would rather have two Hayes types on my team than only one Thornton. But, that is the same type of thinking that has made that team a candidate for contraction. Looks similiar to the ill-advised money thrown at Beno, Garcia, etc.
Curry also heading to Miami and Chalmers resigns. Word is that Curry thought the Big 3 was a meal deal and was all-in!
