Him just saying I hope they don't.

Bill Simmons @sportsguy33 41 mins Details
If the Lakers get Okafor in the CP3 deal, I hope they don't spin Bynum to Indy, Minny or Portland for multiple pieces. That would scare me.

A lot of teams are signing players, Sacramento, Toronto, etc. It's not just the big market teams. I'm not saying all of those signings are good, but teams are filling out their rosters and getting ready for the start of the season.

With no GM, just a bad college scout, a BFF and a coach, the Blazers sit by, watch their current players drop like flies and allow crap teams like Sacramento and Toronto pick-up serviceable big men like Chuck Hayes and Aaron Gray. I'm not saying we should have, or could have signed those guys, but we were thin upfront to begin with (we've needed a REAL back-up power forward for five years) and we now know Oden probably won't play at all this season (again) and Aldridge is out short term, we at least need to get some big bodies to fill out our active roster. Right now, the only players on our roster over 6'8" likely to be able to play on opening night are: Old and often injured Mar-cus Cam-by clap clap clap-clap-clap and D-leaguers Luke Babbitt, Chris Johnson and Earl Barron. Where's Sean Marks when you need him?

Suggesting Bynum (and all his knee issues) I think Bill Simmons is blatantly trolling Blazer fans.

Blazers search for a free agent big man narrowing in on 3 candidates: Reggie Evans, Kurt Thomas or Josh McRoberts.

Evans is at the top of the list, but Blazers would need full MLE to get it done. Blazers won't have MLE unless they amnesty Brandon Roy

screw that, no thanks to full mle for evans.

Full MLE for Reggie Evans? No fucking way. He's vet minimum talent, at best.

Of course, if we had an actual GM, they'd know that.

They wouldn't give a shit where Bynum ends up if the pieces they recieve are part of the larger plan that gets them Howard and CP3.

Except we can't do it, because he will only come here if we give him $20 million.

There is one thing he can do as well as Chris Paul:

If Howard goes to new jersey, I don't give a shit if lakers get Paul. I am only worried about Howard. Cp3 doesn't make the lakers better imo

But, but, but I thought he was going to la! Its always made sense for him to go to nj. It also probably never had anything to do with the cp3 trade

Give me a break! The first deal ironically gives the lakers 20 mil free, just enough for a Howard type contract. They got no bigs in return, yet they gave away two of them? Please don't tell me you are this naive.
