Good luck convincing Stern of that. No one else is buying it either.

Edited my earlier post, but atleast put Batum in your trade scenarios. Someone might be swayed by his supposed endless potential.

The Clippers offered up Kaman(big expiring) Aminu, Bledsoe and Minny's unprotected pick.
You want to offer 2 picks we get in a Wallace deal(let's say NJ's pick and Houston's lotto protected pick that turns into a 2nd rounder in 4 years), Camby and Felton. those two deals are not equal. Ignoring the fact that with continued pushing, they might be able to get Gordon in there.

    John Hollinger @johnhollinger
BTW Blazer fans this is likely much ado about nothing. If DH is actually traded for that pile, Chris Paul's going Braveheart on lg office

Paul-Carmelo-Chandler is likely a better pairing than Carmelo-Amare-Chandler.
Regardless, it is a very easy possibility to give them the space to get Paul.
Also, Lakers can send Bynum in a S&T.

Once again, Hollinger with his nose buried in an agent's ass.
"That Pile" doesn't have to be voted on by 29 guys with a $300M investment to recoup asap. "That pile" only needs to be voted on by ORL, NJN and POR...all either big spenders or trying to be.
CP3 overplayed his hand, and all this crap by 'veteran NBA writers' is just grandstanding.

Maybe you should just join the discussions where 1/2 argue we have the greatest roster in NBA history and the other 1/2 argue that we will be in the lottery. Those are so few and far between

Lakers wanted Howard... End of story. The deal with NO smelt getting Howard all the way. Once they learned they wouldn't get the cap space or flexibility, they nixed the deal. Everyone and their grandmother all had the idea that Lakers were making these moves to get Howard. Also, trading Bynum for no big in return is a terrible move for them. They would have no one to help down low. That's a bad deal as well.

Do you want to know where Wallace was drafted or a list of players that have been drafted outside of the lottery over the last 10 years that are better than Wallace? Your argument that there is a high probability of drafting an all-star level player in the bottom half of the draft is silly and not worth debating.

You have a few unrealistic assumptions in this single sentence. We wouldn't get 4 picks in the top 25. We may bet 4 picks that are all worse than top 15. That is a big difference.

Also, take a look at our last 4 draft picks. Would you trade all of them together for Wallace? I sure wouldn't. Heck, I wouldn't trade all of our draft picks from the last 4 years for Wallace.

    Nolan Smith (21)
    Jon Diebler (51)
    Elliot Williams (22)
    Armon Johnson (34)
    Victor Claver (22)
    Dante Cunningham (33)
    Jon Brockman (38)
    Patrick Mills (55)
    Brandon Rush (13)
    Joey Dorsey (33)
    Omer Asik (36)
    Mike Taylor (55)
    Greg Oden (1)
    Josh McRoberts (37)
    Taurean Green (52)

Even if you want to limit the picks to first-rounders, over the last 4 years you're left with:
    Nolan Smith
    Elliot Williams
    Victor Claver
    Brandon Rush

Not a chance I would trade those 4 players for Wallace right now.

I dont have to give you a team right now, it isnt next season. Teams can make things happen throughout the year to grab him next offseason. Im sure the clippers could figure it out.

Not since they already used it on Billups in order to be able to sign Chandler.

Yes out of all the teams, arguably the Clippers have the best opportunity to free-up cap. But they just took on Billups; whom they can't trade. Also, if the wait is until summer, they may get a very high pick with the Minny deal that could net them a younger PG for way less money.

Great, trade Wallace now for draft picks over the years. maybe in 3-4 years when the Blazers start looking like a playoff team again, they can trade LA (who will start to be on the down side of his carrer) for more future draft picks.

If I'm LA, I'm pissed they trade Wallace for draft picks.

Oh crap, totally forgot about that. Yep NY has no chance in freeing up money. They are over cap and will be for quite some time.

That's why I think they are hardly done. This totally smells like Brass is making a run for CP3. It may not happen, but it sure looks like it.

A young pg doesnt let you have an opportunity to compete for a title and convince griffin to stay like cp3. Billups is two million to them, im sure they will manage.
