To make salaries work I wonder if Portland could get Kris Humphries in a sign-and-trade.

    Crawford
    Humphries
    Multiple draft picks

Now that would be solid GM work by Chad.

I don't think Wallace is worth a couple draft picks in the 20s. I would rather see Wallace traded in a package this year or next year as an expiring contract to get another seasoned player.

Aldrdige is currently the key piece to the Blazers, and his window is the next 3-5 years, IMO. Draft has been a crap shoot for the Blazer lately. I trust their trading ability over their drafting ability and even with a good 20 something pick, it will take some development years for that player to ge to the point they help Aldrdige take the team to another level.

With PA's money, I like the Cuban style of trying to build a team (aquire as much seasoned talent as possible). If PA sells, then I'm all for stocking up draft picks.

Regardless, I'm still encouraged that the Blazers have made the "philosophical" leap to thinking this way

I'm wondering about these "multiple first round picks". I know that Orlando is not interested in giving one of their picks to Portland; in fact I think they will want one of the picks from New Jersey. We are talking about Dwight Howard, a healthy 27 year old super star. Considering his age, health and talent, probably only Durant would have as much value. Lopez, Wallace, and NJ's Houston pick would be a minimum they would take I think. So how does Portland get even two picks out of this?

Good points. If the Blazers are going to rebuild we need to trade Aldridge.

So we can rebuild around someone that potentially might be as good as LA?

I am not waiting for another cake to bake.

i only know one sure way of improving your lottery odds, choose all of your numbers over 31, since alot of people play their birthdays, the odds are slightly less likely that you will have to split the pot if you win.

We aren't championship contenders, so why don't we trade Aldridge for draft picks? With 4 late 1st rounders, we could restock our starting lineup. When we're in the Finals 2 years later you'll thank me. Sure, it's a gamble, but we're not going anywhere anyway, so why not roll the dice?

Shhhhh. My odds of having to split go up every time someone brings this up.

(I really do not play the lottery. Was just agreeing that the lottery is a crap shoot and even though you might get a good player, the chances are not with you. The odds at the bottom are horrible.)

Or after the All-Star game, which Orlando hosts. I am guessing the Magic do not want to see Howard come back if he is playing for a different team.
