Perhaps this is another example of why you shouldn't drop out of Seminary and then call yourself "reverend". Jesus wasn't born under a death warrant. He was born, and then when the Magi asked Herod where they could find him, he freaked out and ordered the murder of the Bethlehem male infants. He wasn't in the manger because he was poor. He was in the manger b/c there wasn't any room at the inn (due to the census) when they got there. A poor couple wouldn't have had the funds to be able to afford a room if there was one. And he sure wasn't poor after the Magi gave him some gold. Jesus' "father" Joseph was a builder/carpenter. They were rich enough to be able to travel to Jersualem for the Holy Days, rich enough to get Jesus educated to read and write (much less, in Greek). Maybe this hypocritical glory-seeker should just go back to reading the Bible, and speaking to his constituency about what Jesus actually said about things like paying taxes and getting paid not to work.
Odd that someone who spent several years of his life trying to "spread the word" never put any of it writing.
