Hmm... I didn't think about that, but you're probably right. The team would have been quite a bit worse with Gay instead of Roy.

We traded away Kelvin Cato, Isiah Rider, Walt Williams and Jim Jackson for Pippen and Smith. Those were excellent trades; we already had Bonzi as our 3rd SG, Jermaine Oneal as our 3rd center, and just added Detlef Schrimf at backup SF. Those were two of the best steals of a trade our franchise has ever made.

The bad trades were trading away Jermaine Oneal and Brian Grant the following summer. We made the back to back western conference finals primarily because of the Rasheed/BGrant/Sabonis big man rotation. Then we traded Steve Smith away for the ability to over pay Derek Anderson and overpaid to sign Rubean Patterson. Then traded Rasheed away for crap players and unable to admit our mistake decided to give them fat contract extensions. You actually see that a lot, teams overpay their own player to validate their previous poor decision to acquire said player.

I'm not. They have had three home games against mediocre teams. Denver is ok, but I will bet by the end of the year none of those teams will be anything to write home about.

Philly and Denver are both playoff teams. We have the 2nd highest point differential in the league with a +11.7

But, I get it, its your MO to short sell the Blazers.

I think Denver will be very good - but Philly is good but not special and the Kings are meh.

Too early to tell where this team really stands.

So far we have been good. That doesn't say anything about our opponents. I am not short selling anyone.

We have a veteran team. This isn't going to be like the young teams we've had in the past that went to the East and picked up goose eggs on a trip.

I think they have a good possibility to go 2-1 in their next games. They always play the Thunder well in OKC, I can see the Clippers game going either way - especially if Jordan is taken out of the game early, and I expect to beat the Lakers at home.

    Oh hush!

Is that some of that new-fangled "reason" stuff all you kids are talking about? You just keep that godless-commie-nonsense outa here! Your forebearers made it over Donner pass with nothing but a wagon-load of kool-aid and rose colored sunglasses. :smiley-drone::smiley-borg::smiley-rif:

Dammit, Sly really ruined what was a perfectly good piece of sarcasm by editing what I said. The "Your dumb" should have said it all ...
