I'm still kinda pissed we missed the entire first half of the Blazers game so TNT could show 3 overtimes of mia/atl sans lebron and wade...that was pathetic. The 2nd half made up for it, (you know, when we kicked the shit out of the lakers), but Im still pissed. There should be an option..put it on TBS or something!
You know if the premier east coast teams were somehow the "late" games that would never happen to them and they would have a back-up plan in place.
I agree they should put the game on some other channel, but then I think about the people living in SD or wherever that are really looking forward to their Big Bang Theory reruns or whatever.
Before I get flamed for this, I want to put out the disclaimer that I, too, was very disappointed and pissed to miss the entire first half of our game last night. I tossed the remote at the end of regulation and dropped quite a few F-bombs when it got to the 3rd OT! But those complaining about TNT's coverage are being typical Blazer homers. Whenever a network gets a triple overtime game, hell yes they're going to show it through the end - even if that means cutting off the first half of the next game. Every other network would do the same. It's more exciting and better ratings for them. The ONLY people pissed off about the coverage last night are Blazer fans - that's it, no one else. And I hate to break the news to you guys, we ain't the center of the NBA universe. So anyone really going out of their way to complain about it is just making sour grapes right now. It was a great win and we saw an awesome 2nd half. Enjoy the win and let's hope the same shit doesn't happen in Phoenix tonight.
I get that and Im sure the first game was a great game for some people to watch. I just wish they had a back up plan for that scenario. Its nice that ESPN has a few other networks that they can show it on until the first game is over. It even more frustrating when I pay for the NBA league pass and I can even switch over and watch it there.
I would be pissed to. I live in LA so I got to see it, but I can imagine how livid I would have been if I had friends over to watch the game and couldn't. Of course since double and triple OT games are so rare on TNT........they are not going to change anything.
Thank you! A triple overtime game regardless of who is playing (Ivan Johnson!) will get the nod over the first half of another game. To those saying "if it was a big market team it wouldn't have happened", you were playing the effin Lakers, how much of a bigger market do you need?
