He averages 8 rebounds a game. Come on now 8 rebounds is fairly good. Get off the 3 def rebounds because he got 7 off ones. We lose a couple of games and people are freaking out. Lets wait and see if our 23p "underrated" Franchise player ups his rebounding. Tell then im fine with his offensive game which is defiantly off *which is kind of scary considering he is still getting 20+)and his above average defense.
No, I'm not going to get off of his defensive rebounding. It's terrible, and he needs to step it up, especially with Camby being out. Channing Frye and Andrea Bargnani are averaging more defensive rebounds right now And all rebounds are not created equal. Wild putback attempts on the offensive glass or tapping the ball out the the center of the court and hoping a teammate gets it is not the same as grabbing the rebound and gaining possession. Aldridge's ability to do this has always been average at best. Right now it's below average, and that simply isn't going to cut it.
Do you want LMA running the break and using his speed, or do you want him banging the boards and letting Kurt Thomas and Camby fill the lanes. One of the dumber threads of the season, IMO.
Is this going to be the running excuse for his bad defensive rebounding numbers? It's lazy analysis at best. When the other team has 19 offensive rebounds, yes, I think Aldridge should try and grab some defensive rebounds. What did he do? Not a damn thing about it. With Camby down it's time to step it up. If he doesn't, shame on him. So far the results are not good.
Would you rather have an Aldridge that barely gets 20 points; maybe 19.2, but grabs 3-4 more defensive rebounds? That would be a 19.2/10 guy

LMA has already stepped up this season, and you're wasting your credibility on bashing the guy. Good luck with that one.
Until someone can show me some defensive rebounding statistics that tell me I'm wrong about his rebounding up until this point, sorry, my argument is as credible as it gets. Until then...
How about instead of being an asshole; you answer the question? I was asking a simple question, and I haven't confronted you once in this thread about wanting more rebounding. I already said I did. But give me 10 current players averaging 10+ rebounds, while 20+ points. Oh yeah there aren't too many. So I guess it's a little harder than you think. Otherwise we would have at least 10.
Where did I saw I wanted Aldridge to average 20/10? I said I want to see more defensive rebounding, used stats to back up my opinion, and I guess certain people can't handle the cold hard truth. Show me where I'm wrong here.
Roytoy, LMA is averaging 7.3 rebounds this season. Asking him to add another 3-4 rebounds would put him at 10.3-11.3 rebounds. Then you mock me like I was stupid to think that just 3 more boards would lower his point total. http://espn.go.com/nba/statistics/player/_/stat/rebounds/sort/avgRebounds/year/2012/seasontype/2 There are only 10 players that have 10 or more boards a game. Out of those 10 players; only Howard, Love and Griffin scored 20 or over. Then look at Noah; whom is considered a good rebounder. He only has .4 more rebounds than Aldridge. You act like 20/10 is simple. I guess you think 22/10 is easy right?
I asked would you like a 19.2/10 player? Then you said it was stupid to think 3 more rebounds would make his point suffer. Aldridge is averaging 7.3 rebounds. 3 more rebounds would be 10+ boards. In another thread, you said he was incapable of getting 10+ boards unless he played 40 minutes a night. Then you bitch that he got only 3; but still grabbing 10+.
AGAIN When did I say I wanted him to average 10 rebounds? More than 10 rebounds? 20/10? I said I wanted to see more DEFENSIVE REBOUNDING, and so far this season he's been a poor defensive rebounder for his position. That's it. I'm not sure what isn't clear about that.
So then lower offensive boards and up the defensive boards? So still have 7.3 or 8 boards but 5 defensive? Are defensive boards more valuable the offensive? Not trying to argue what I think is more important. I want to know what's more important to you.
Aldridge is never going to rebound at an elite level. Most of the time, he is already heading down the floor when the ball is in the air on the shot. Some people simply don't have the internal make up or whatever to be great at rebounding the ball. That being said, Aldridge could add 1-2 more rebounds a game to his stats if he would grab the damn ball rather than playing tether ball with it.
Last year and the year before he was always very high on offensie boards. He rebounds offensively at an elite level, just not defensively. I agree that LA isnever going to be an elite rebounder on both sides of the floor. It takes something more then just talent to rebound, LMA is insanely talented but he isn't KG/Duncan expecting over 8.5 is probably asking to much.
