No, but you said that him not playing Williams and Smith over Crawford is "stupid".

I'm guessing that view is in an extreme minority, even on this board.

If you read the remainder of that, I said that he should send him a message after he jacks up stupid shots. Crawford is a selfish basketball player, and Nate saying his guards are set in stone is pretty stupid because it means players like Crawford don't have to have any accountability.

Crawford is second on the team with a 23.6 assist%. He's also second on the team in assist/36.

If you want to talk about a "selfish" player, check out Wesley Matthews' assist numbers. Dude is a black hole.

If you're going to try and be smarter than the coach, at least try to have some statistics to back your criticisms.

I know what your agenda is, though, so just keep on doing what you do. It's amusing, and adds to the entertainment here.

Why does Nate hate the next Larry Bird?

Mike Rice says Babbitt is going to be really good.

I find this a little ridiculous. I would love to see Elliott Williams, but who's minutes do you want to see cut? Batum? Crawford only got 23 minutes yesterday.

As for Nolan Smith, how did he go from "the guy is not ready" to "he needs more minutes"? Felton had 12 assisits and 3 steals last night. He had wayyyy too many turn overs, but if you think Smith will have less while playing at a fast tempo you are nuts. However I am sure he will get his chance. The season is very young.

Can you help clarify for me the difference between Nate being "forced to play rookies" (because there is no one equal or better on the roster) and Nate playing rookies "when they're good enough to earn minutes"?

    Aren't those basically synonymous?

Really? Rudy? Come on, you have to try better than that.

Sure there are exceptions, such as B Roy, but, bottom line is Nate has a pattern of under-utilising his younger players when a game/blowout gives him the opportunity to do so.
Practice can only teach these young guys so much.

Case in point was a few games ago, Cleveland game IIRC, we had the game in the bag and McMillan kept the starters in until 2mins to go.
Even though we had a 16 point lead or so.

That's just either lack of vision and foresight or plain lunacy to show such inflexibility in a season when the schedule is as compacted as it is. Just begging for worn down players and injuries.

Or maybe he just still remembers the Philly game where they hit 5 of 6 3's late and almost ripped it from us despite having a 14-point lead with 4 minutes left.

Also, maybe Nate just wanted to get his actual rotation players as much time on the court together as possible to try and get some practice time together.
