This was the best press the Ducks could have gotten a week before national signing day! ESPN all but made Chip and the Ducks looks like the place to be for the country to see!
I've heard two arguments on this. 1. Chip is at the level where the NFL is offering him up to $7m a year and he decided to stay at Oregon. He's the premier college coach in college and potential players would be behooved to play under him. 2. Chips is flippy and won't be at Oregon - long term. He's toying with leaving and is unstable and unpredictable. Potentially, both apply.
Either of those two arguments still have the Ducks coming out smelling like roses the way I see it! Both still get us exposure on a national level with a quality coach that has big nike dollars behind him and a top ten program to lead. That attracts both players and great coaches if Chip bolts, so our Ducks wont miss a quack! Wether he's a flip flopper or not, make not mistake Chip isn't here for a fucking Rose Bowl he's here for the national championship and he's going to get it! We're riding the big waves now boys!
This will be a big year. Chip is losing his starting QB that has taken the team to a NC showing and a BCS win. He's losing a once in decade RB and Oregon leading RB. If Flip Kelly takes Oregon to a BCS win next year, I'm a believe in his excellence. Until them, I'm just a believe in his goodness. If Flip would have mentored Blount, Harris and Masoli like he should have - how far would this Duck team have gone?
DT played well within Chips offense but he has some limitations in his game, not amazing arm and didn't know when to take off and pick up the first. I think Marcus will make DT look like a average QB in two years just about the time DAT, Shaq and TT shows up to be the next once in decade back! Never fear, this is going to get fun!
As much as I would have loved to have seen Cliff play out his career with the Ducks, it's pretty obvious the guy had some maturity issues. I don't pretend to know what was happening on the practice field, but I'm fairly certain that Chip had his reasons for handling Cliff the way he did.
What a ridiculous post. Most coaches would have ignored what Blount, Harris, and Masoli did or given them a slap on the wrist. How many coaches in America do you think would have kicked Masoli off of the team coming off of a BCS bowl? Also, since you seemed so excited with your other thread, you do know which coach recruited Blount and Masoli, right?
Papa G, I'm really not. I understand your anger against others and how easy it is to vent that against people on the net because they aren't real to you. I am seriously sorry for what you are going through with your girl and am here if you need someone to talk to. It's ok. It's not your fault.
Seriously, just stop it and stay on-topic. If you really cared, you'd respect my wishes on posting about my daughter. Since you keep spamming about her, at this point, I think you have some severe mental issues.
That's not the case and I'm sorry for what you're going through. I'm here if you need someone to talk to.
Well sure it does, John, except for it being 100% inaccurate. Canzano was probably excited that he may not be black-balled from the Oregon program if Chip left. Pretty soon, John and his amazing sources will be down to covering HS sports' stories. The Blazers hate him. The Ducks hate him. Maybe ole Lunchpail Riley is still tight with him? Surely people want to read about 3-win football teams, right?
