I know people probably already realize this, but there is a good chance we don't get either Shaq or Armstead. We've put ourselves into good position and that's really the best we can hope for. Like Stomp said earlier, they seem like good kids (no Yuri Wright) and I wish them the best, no matter what happens.
I just looked him up, and I laughed. This is why I'll never use Twitter. What a moron. And he's going to one of the Pac-12's punching bags. Great. He's from Don Bosco Prep too! One of my local schools(Mission Viejo) played at their stadium(they got creamed, understandably). And I was wondering, if the D1 powerhouses are UO, Oklahoma, Bama, etc, what are the powerhouses for D2 and D3? New Hampshire(Chip Kelly's old college?)
Hey Targus, there's some rumors saying that Educk has a story saying that Shane Brostek has chosen the Ducks. Is this true? Or still just speculation.
Targus might be taking a little break from S2. http://sportstwo.com/threads/206208-Chip-never-accepted-the-Tampa-job.
Obviously the rest of us need to step up on the "Flip Kelly is a WHORE" posts. That's the way to attract players, their parents, and donors to this board. Defending the coach for staying at UO is clearly a disgusting behavior, and does not attract the Oregon fans who really matter.
Let's get back to some recruiting news. Cottrell has decided to stick with the Ducks after Texas offered him. This is huge news
Cal fans are claiming that Tedford has been invited to Armstead's announcement yesterday. When it is pointed out that tomorrow is the start of the dead period, and that Tedford already had a visit with Armstead, and that Gus Armstead said it isn't at all true, they claim that Gus is in on the thing, and that the Armsteads didn't know it would be an NCAA violation. I still think Cal gets him, though.
Thanks for all this info guys! I consider myself a lifelong Duck fan, but very new to the recruiting side of it. When will we find out about these star players where they will choose?
Signing day is Wednesday. Oregon is one of 13 schools that ESPN will have a reporter at for the day. The class is already very good, and if Chip pulls of yet another late surprise, it will be great.
The Tacoma News Tribune's NW top 100 list is out with lots of Ducks to be honored http://www.thenewstribune.com/2012/01/28/2003142/the-western-100-class-of-2012.html?storylink=twt STOMP
maybe it's a defense mechanism buttressing me against disappointment, but I'm guessing Cal. Supposedly he was all set to stay local at one point and I have to assume it wasn't just because of Tosh. Now that the dust has settled, what has changed besides Cal getting a more experienced DLine coach? But really, thats just wild guessing on my part. No doubt, it would be awesome to add him to our grove of Giant Sequoia DLineman. DE is the one of the few spots on Oregon's roster where a talented true Freshman would have legit shot at starting and of course we're a preseason NCG favorite. I'm going to go on a bike ride and forget about this stuff STOMP
Bralon Addison and Chance Allen are apparently on campus right now with their families. And apparently this is an unofficial, which means they had to pay their own money to fly out here to Eugene. This is a great sign.
DylanAusherman Dylan Ausherman had a great sit down with Coach Oz and Coach Kelly! tomorrow should be the day I've dreamed of my whole life. #QuackQuack
