I am no fan of the all-star game, but watching last night's game and reviewing the last 10 games; I've come to a conclusion on how importantance making the all-star game is.

All-stars get a different respect from officiating. Superstars get the best respect; but it's gonna be a while until we get that respect.

What I've noticed is Aldridge getting bumped with no calls. He should be at the line more this season. He is doing everything he can to get to the rim and isn't rewarded for his efforts. I suspect if he has a few all-star appearances; he will start getting those calls in his favor. Just like BRoy had to earn his.

This is the only reason why I want Aldridge to start making the all-sar game. Not for a Blazer to be represented in the All-star game; but more importantly getting the respect by the officials.

It's very important. The TV networks like to only hype one player from one team vs one player from the other team. Not having an all star on the team confuses them. "Tonight we have Durant vs uhhh... uhhh... uhhh.... some Trail Blazers!"

Also you may not be aware of this but as an all star you get 3 no call fouls and an assortment of other random calls in your favor per game.

Quite possibly the most dominant post player in the game today and he's shooting less than 6 FTA per game with usg% and FGA. Just not right.

Yeah it amazes me how teams are allowed to whack the shit out of him and there is no call. Just criminal!

And the most amazing part is he takes the contact and still makes the shot. He made Kendrick Perkins, supposedly a good post defender, look like an inept child last night.

For last night's game at least, LA was the best player on the court.

No doubt. He's making some ridiculous shots lately. (He has to or we'd get blown out.) But yeah, if Aldridge had a couple of All Star games under his belt I don't think he gets called for the goal tend last night.
