I will like anything that gives us Nash without having to give up Aldridge or Batum. Everything else is free game, IMO.
we give up too much..... If we pursue Nash - and it is for a "rental" then we better be "adding Nash" to help this team get over the hump. Not gut this team. What would be the point?
So much easier for the D to collapse/doubleteam a post player then a wing, so LA is reduced to a passer or spot up jump shooter in crunch time. Pretty much Crawford has to be Portland's finisher as he's the only guy in the rotation who has demonstrated the ability to get a decent look off the dribble. STOMP
Probably so, but I sure wouldn't mind seeing Elliot Williams given a chance to grow into that role (or at least see if he's got it in him).
not saying its perfect but they shed a ton of salary with us taking okafor.... but I'm sure they could get a way better deal if they wanted... just depends on what they want to do
Then why not use Kaman instead of Okafor? PDX: Felton, Matthews, Babbit, G. Wall - PHX: Nash and Childress - NO - Kaman and 2 second rounders?
In terms of value it's the closest to realistic I've seen you post on the matter, but Phoenix takes on more money for this year and is presumably stuck with more guaranteed money in the future than they'd like (and not much sex appeal or 'future' to sell to their fans). The most realistic trade for Nash is going to have to include some young prospects (and no Babbitt and Wesley do not qualify) this is about outbidding other teams.
I think Portland won't trade Aldridge or Batum; but pretty much everyone else is open. What would you think could work with that being the option?
How about this one? GW Gets: Felton, Matthews and Frye - PDX gets: Nash, Childress and Biedrins - PHX gets: Ellis and G. Wall
They may, but they would actually have a great defender SG with size (not ellis), a point guard that is serviceable (Felton) and Frye is all about the perimeter (Golden State loves that). If Felton walks this summer; they shed 8 mil in contracts too.
Let's say it's Portland and Phoenix as primary trade partners. The Blazers need to pull in a second team with a first round pick they're willing to part with (which would be conveyed to Phoenix) To me that says that Portland needs to send the team sacrificing their future first a prospect that has upside (Williams or Batum probably). So maybe a palatable deal would be to send Felton and Wallace (plus a Blazers future second rounder and a third unnamed team's first) to Phoenix in exchange for Nash and Childress and the Blazers would then trade a guy like Williams (if he's desirable to other teams?) to a third team for their pick. Predicting who that third team might be is impossible to guess as a fan.
Are you kidding me, that's awful for Portland. I think you really underestimate how bad Childress's contract is.
