    ESPN/ABC has a multi-billion dollar contract with the NBA that runs through 2015-16.. They would be killing their own product by seriously investigating how deep the Donaghy thing really went, and how many other refs were involved.

    It still amazes me that Scott Foster is an active ref after all of his contact with Donaghy before and after games. Can you imagine the outrage if an NFL referee was caught shaving points in games?

    Yes, because there are no extenuating circumstances surrounding this game and the ref. Plus, the NBA has no history of refs fixing games, and Scott Foster being directly involved with Tim Donaghy before and after games.

    Their broadcast was on NBATV (which is unusual), so Stern was particularly interested in the quality of their call to a national audience. If they were only broadcasting to Portland, he probably wouldn't have cared how they handled it.
