I think that the argument would be that all animals are driven by the need to procreate. I don't have an opinion one way or the other, though, on what the cause is for deviations from the norm.
I don't think it's an either-or proposition. I think there's a sliding scale of strength of sexual preference based on genetics. I think there's also significant environmental impact. I think that one person whose genetic makeup puts them near the middle in the preference spectrum could end up leaning toward hetero or homo sexuality based on various factors in his/her development. I think that others whose genetic makeups are more toward one end of the spectrum are less susceptible to environmental influence. I think that despite genetic & environmental influences, people can always make a choice.
I personally dont care if someone is born gay or chooses to be gay. If they are attracted to the same sex and it makes them happy, then go for it. It's not hurting me or my family any. Funny song from a band I used to listen to named Sloppy Seconds.
i really dont understand why people care what other people do if they arent harming anyone... think of it like this unicorns dont care if you think they exist any more than you care if unicorns think that YOU exist gay people dont care that you think they are going to hell any more than YOU care if they think YOU are going to hell
It seems like a lot of it comes down to, if it is just a choice they make, then it's fair game to discriminate against them, because they bring it on themselves. So no equal rights if you are choosing. But if they are born that way, it's protectable, theoretically, against discrimination, at least legally. Like with marriage, etc.
why would it be fair game to discriminate? who gives a shit what kind of junk they like in their mouth? the people who are sooo against it/make the biggest deal about it, are often closeted gay and overcompensating for the fact they they have these feelings
I don't mean it on a personal level. But, in the way of gay marriage, people for gay marriage will say they deserve equal treatment, and that sexuality should be a protected class. But people opposed will say they are making that choice, so it doesn't afford the same protections as, say, race does, since people don't choose their race.
Legit. People are attracted to who they are attracted to. For example, guys are referred to as "ass men" breast men" legs men". There is a reason for that. I prefer brunettes with large breasts and taller than 5'6", while others might prefer short blondes with small breasts (oh who am I kidding? No one prefers small breasts) Anyway, I believe it is the same for people who are attracted to the same sex. While I don't understand how a man can look at another man's hairy ass and get aroused, I believe it's in their genetic make up that it does arouse them.
