Back in the old days we used hydrochloric acid. We weren't no ninnies. Great for nose hairs and ear wax, too.
Good post and agree 100%. The offense in between those years is open for debate, but there were no clear-cut answers.
Are you suggesting you think the pace slows down? Or is the snide comment in reference to the fluidity of the offense and ball movement (I'll concede the offense has been crap so far, so I'm hoping this is what you're talking about). If you're talking pace, while I know it's been to small of sample size to draw any conclusions from, in both games while protecting leads, the Blazers continued to push the pace. In game 1 it helped Philly get back into the game, and in Game 2 it closed out Sacramento. I'm willing to believe this is a true sign that Nate has become dedicated to "playing faster". Had he had any indiference to the idea, after losing a big lead in game 1, he would of gone back into 4 corners/iso ball of the past to kill the clock.
Mags, you are trying to over analyze two game and using that to find fault with the past. Yes we are playing at a faster pace and thus getting more shots which will typically lead to more points The team of the past with Roy didn't play all iso ball but used the clock more and valued possession. Nate has turned the dial up as this is a different team than years past but I can also find games where we scored 100 points in a game and shot near 40% (the second game this season we shot 45%). 1st game we shot 97 times and the second game was more of what we shot in the past at 85 shots in the game. You're comparing 2 games of one season to a full season of the past teams where the team has had to overcome numerous injuries and large amount of games lost due to injury of very key players. Relax and let the season play out.
Nothing happening on Olive right now so thought I would pop in. I read this forum more than I post though. ;-)
Christ some of you people are sensitive. My comments were for Mags who's already starting to compare this squad to the Clyde-Porter-Kersey teams.
