Maybe you wronged them somehow and feel you have it coming, but I certainly haven't wronged them and don't have anything coming. I have lived my life by The Golden Rule. Any hatred they may feel for me is unwarranted, undeserved, and unproductive in their own lives.
I'm old. Many of my experiences happened in the past. Actually all of them happened in the past, except the ones that haven't happened yet. You are younger obviously, therefore your experience is more limited. When I was younger I learned a lot from listening to my elders, since they'd been there done that. "Hair on your chest" does not block bullets, which is what you'll get if you're white and you wander around on foot at night in NE Portland. A black wandering around on foot at night in Scio might be questioned by a cop simply because nobody else is out at night in Scio, but it's doubtful anyone would shoot him.

If someone out there hates me because I'm white, I assume it is a product of their ignorance, their low self-esteem, and their lack of personal responsibility. I see no logic in blaming strangers for something their ancestors (whom I did not know) did to my ancestors (whom I did not know). Too bad you have these feelings about my NorthEast Portland. Lived here my whole life. Have seen good and bad, but it is a amazing culturally diverse neighborhood. Great restaurants, coffee shops, art galleries and stores left and right. Could and never will live where everybody looks the same. Raise my kids like my parents raised me. Everybody has a choice where to live, just glad I was raised where i was.
