When people were making a fuss about Lin the FIRST time:
I don't know why, but seeing the ticker at the end of that video, "The Knicks sign Raymond Felton," made me laugh.
He's a perfect future Blazer! Sign him to a max deal, Paul! http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/218985/Eric_Gordon_To_Undergo_Knee_Surgery
why didn't he get signed i haven't read much about his story.... he plays pretty good D from what i can tell
More drama in Lala land. http://www.foxsportswest.com/02/13/...-/msn_landing.html?blockID=665226&feedID=7972
I'm loving this Lin hype, but a lot of it has to do with him being Asian and playing in NY. Another guy that deserves hype is http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/4493/gamelog;_ylt=Akzirz6CVKAUZFK3OZYZZiDqPaB4
Pekovic is balling. Skilled big man, strong and really smart. I remember watching the FIBA games and realizing why he got a shot to play in the NBA. He can ball. Picked him up on my fantasy team last week.
I liked the guy when I watched him play the few times in FIBA and the minutes he got last year. I always thought he was a tad flat footed and not mobile enough to contribute big time. Looked at him as a prospect that could be good after being in the league for 3 to 4 years and constant work on his footwork. Looks like I was wrong on him taking a long time to develop.
He's somewhat similar, IMO, to Al Jefferson. Strong, good array of post moves, can score well on the block, and not a good defender, but can use his bulk to put in a tiny bit of effort on that end.
Good ol' Shaq. Ever the comedian: http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/7576338/shaquille-oneal-says-dwight-howard-leaving-orlando-magic-travesty So there aren't any "better options" for Howard?
I give Lin two more weeks before the scouts have sufficiently identified his weaknesses and come up with a plan to minimize his impact on the game.
But they're undefeated when he starts and he broke the record for most points scored in first four starts since the NBA-ABA merger. So what he is doing goes beyond race and location. But sure, NY and race makes the story even more fun.
